ANTELOPE, California — Eric Holmes, pilot of the No. 20 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota Camry, and the NASCAR Camping World Series West championship team finished 16th in the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Series West season finale at All American Speedway. Holmes and the NAPA team from Bill McAnally Racing finished solidly second in the chase for the series championship with three wins, two Coors Light Pole Awards, six top-five finishes and 11 top-ten finishes in 2009.
Holmes qualified the NAPA Toyota in fifth for the 150-lap main event. Early in the race, the No. 20 NAPA Toyota Camry lost brake fluid due to a ruptured brake line. Holmes brought the NAPA entry into the garage area where the NAPA team from Bill McAnally Racing went to work to make the repairs. Holmes reentered the race 38 laps down. He demonstrated to the sold out crowd at All American Speedway that the No. 20 NAPA was fast as he lapped the entire field including the race leader under green. After running over some debris late in the race, Holmes would return to the garage to replace a flat tire.
The NASCAR Camping World Series West race, the Toyota/Copart “150” from All American Speedway will be televised on October 8th on SPEED TV at noon pacific time.
