ABILENE’S RYAN BARD MEMORIAL SOUTHERN CHALLENGE THIS WEEKEND

ABILENE, Texas — IMCA drivers in four divisions will compete for shares of a $75,000 purse at Abilene Speedway’s Ryan Bard Memorial Southern Challenge this Friday-Sunday, Oct. 16-18.

The IMCA Modified feature pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $650 to start. The winner also earns a spot on the 2010 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.

The Southwest Racing Specialties Southern SportMod feature pays $2,500 to win and $250 to start. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $2,000 to win and $300 to start while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $1,000 to win and $150 to start.

A practice session will be held from 6-10 p.m. Thurs day, Oct. 15, with complimentary beverages, barbe cue and music at the party to follow.

Gates open at 3 p.m. Friday and racing starts at 7 p.m. On Saturday, gates open at 2 p.m. and racing begins at 6 p.m. Gates open at 11 a.m. and racing starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Pit passes are $25. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids 6-12, with five and under free.
