MYTON, Utah — Thirty-nine of the Wild West Modified Tour's best IMCA Modified drivers will compete for twenty spots to be in the 2009 WWMT Top 20 Showdown at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Duel In The Desert on November 12-14, 2009. The top twenty in the North and South will have to qualify out of two ten car heat races for each series and finish in the top five in them races to qualify. Two heats will run Thursday and Friday night. Ricky Alvarado of Delta, Colorado made the top twenty in both the Northern and Southern Series. Alvarado will have two chances to qualify for the showdown. Alvarado has won everything in the WWMT except the WWMT Top 20 Showdown in Las Vegas. Jeep Berry and Justen Yeager won the past showdown races. This year ten drivers from each series will go head to head in the WWMT North vs. the South Top 20 Showdown at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. The winner of the event will be placed on the 2010 IMCA FastShafts All-Star Invitational ballot. 39 WWMT drivers will be put in a drawing for a $6500 valued Baisch Racing Engine powerplant.

Paul Stone, Shane Jones, Joe Parmeley, John Uccelini, Keith Smith, Sonny Wahl, Clay Daly, Phil Penney, Lance Mari, Jimmy Reeves, Ricky Alvarado, Jay Foster, Harry Anderson, Tim Ward, Duane Rogers, Jeffry Sheppard Jr., Bill Meyer, Joshua Vogt, Dan Fitzgerald, & Tyrone Yazzie will duel for ten spots.
