Mesa Marin Raceway's Campus Motorsports is hosting a safety orientation this Saturday at the track. With the program growing and 14 cars expected in this season opener, it was determined that a more comprehensive orientation could really benefit the high school team members. The goal of the orientation is to familiarize the students with basic racing knowledge, Mesa Marin’s procedures and above all SAFETY!
Representatives from local fire departments, the California Highway Patrol and Hall Ambulance will join Mesa Marin Officials in conducting the sessions. The sessions will cover fire control, basic first aid, track procedures, pit set up, trailering of a race car and other related topics as well actual driving demonstrations.
CWI Racing will be bringing their two Featherlite Southwest Series cars with drivers, Clint Curry #85 and Milan Garrett #42. They will demonstrate staging, how to respond to the various flags while driving, how to drive the track and so on. In addition the students will get to tour the CWI transport hauler.
JoRonCo has donated the use of a large tent with chairs and Mesa Marin will be providing a lunch for the participants. For information about how you can help this growing series, contact Mesa Marin at (661) 366-5711.![]()
