November 2, 2009 – Just over one month ago, Californian pilot Taylor Miinch competed in his first World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturer’s Cup event scoring a victory and three podiums in four classes. Racing at one of his favorite tracks, New Castle Motorsports Park, Miinch will travel across the country yet again, this time a little further south, to compete in the infield of Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.
Though he competed in the Junior HPV and Yamaha divisions one month ago, the newly crowned Championship Karting International (CKI) IAME Junior champion will make the move to the senior ranks as he looks to take the checkers in his first event weekend as a senior level competitor.
“The competition in the junior classes at WKA is tougher than I had expected,” expressed Miinch in preparation for this coming weekend’s action. “At New Castle, I had the opportunity to watch a lot of senior racing and realize that the talent level there is second to none. The TaG class is extremely competitive, and I am excited to race against some of the top senior drivers that North America has to offer.”
This will be Miinch’s second visit to Lowe’s Motor Speedway as he hopes, one day, to race in the upper echelon of closed wheel racing on the big track. Until then, Miinch will look to garner wins and podiums over the November 6 – 8 weekend utilizing a Cory Pollock tuned P1 Engines powered Top Kart in his search for victory.
