Two time Stockton 99 Speedway Late Model Track Champion, Dave Byrd from Seaside, California will hang it all out this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the First Annual "Fall Classic 150" at the newly reopened Stockton 99 Speedway, in Stockton, California.
Byrd, coming off a very successful weekend in the Spears SRL Southwest Tour, at the 3/8 mile, "The Bullring" at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where he took the well prepared #04 Voigt Racing, www.parenting123.info Chevrolet from his 22nd starting position to a fifth place finish, and thus passing the most cars in the race to earn the hard charger award, will now roll right from last weekend's 154 lap race right into this weekend's Fall Classic's 150 lap Western Late Model race. This latest chapter in "The Adventures with Dave Byrd Series" will find Dave driving for car owners and business magnates Rodney and Duane Qualls, owners of Qualls' Stock Car and Motorsports Rentals, out of Ceres, California. Dave will be laying it down with the #78 "house car."
"I've been getting all sorts of people telling me I better get prepared to run 344 laps in a weeks time, but the first 154 didn't seem to phase me, why would I worry about 190 more?", joked Byrd "This is the way racing should be right here," added Byrd "These guys all get along, they race hard and then they play hard, in that order and they don't leave one part out without the other! That's what makes racing worth coming back for more!"
Friday will be testing and practice sessions only, with qualifying and 40 lap heat races on Saturday, that determine the starting positions for Sunday's 150 lap feature event.
