PHOENIX, Arizona — Championship Karting International is pleased to announce that registration forms, schedules and race regulations are now available for the PRI/CKI Karting All-Stars Classic at the CKI website, www.championshipkartracing.com. The fourth annual PRI/CKI Karting All-Stars Classic is one of the most anticipated karting events of the year and will be held at the PRI Show just outside the Orlando Convention Center on the evening of December 10th. Entry forms, schedules and the event’s rules and regulations can be downloaded from the CKI website homepage.
Widely considered as the “event of the year,” the PRI/CKI Karting All-Stars Classic features two classes – the Karter Division and the All-Star Division. The Karter Division showcases some of the best rising stars from the world of kart racing, who get an opportunity to share the spotlight with their motorsports heroes. The All-Star Division attracts top names from NASCAR, IndyCar, NHRA, ALMS, Grand-Am and motorcycle racing who return to their karting roots to the delight of more than 5,000 fans and motorsports industry insiders in attendance in Orlando, Florida.
The 2009 PRI/CKI Karting All-Stars Classic will once again be televised, this time on the Fox Sports Networks, across the United States. Bringing karting to the forefront of American television, CKI will look to put today’s professionals and tomorrow’s motorsports stars in the main stream media.
The event has become well known for its exhilarating atmosphere that allows participants and fans to rub elbows with some of motorsports’ superstars as they prep their karts and get ready for battle on the tight, temporary circuit. The one day event that concludes with racing under the lights, allows racing drivers from different motorsports mediums to interact and catch up with one another after the conclusions of their intense full-time racing calendars.
Confirmed drivers for the upcoming event include recent NASCAR winner Jamie McMurray, former Indy 500 and PRI race winner Buddy Rice, Super Sub Memo Gidley as well as IndyCar stars Graham Rahal and Justin Wilson. Also making a return is last year’s winner Jay Howard as he looks to once again dazzle the crowd. Several other pro competitors are being assigned to teams and will be announced in the coming weeks.
“The PRI event is always exciting and provides some great racing action for the grandstands full of fans” states CKI Director of Operations Kevin Williams. “From Indy 500 winners and NASCAR legends to the motorsports stars of the next generation, the PRI/CKI Karting All-Star Classic is a highlight of the year for racers and fans alike. With limited space available, I would urge all karters looking to participate to register as quickly as possible.”
After PRI, CKI will gear up for the 2010 season. It will be offering two series in 2010; a three-event 2010 WSK North American Series Florida Cup in January, February, and March and a six-event 2010 WSK North American Series National Championship with events beginning in April and running through October. CKI is associated with the European-based WSK International Series; the debut of WSK North America in 2010 marks WSK’s expansion, in conjunction with CKI, into the North American karting community. The Series is sanctioned by the World Karting Association, under the WSK banner. For more information, visit www.championshipkartracing.com.
