BOISE, Idaho — This has to be one of the most interesting rookie stories to come about in quite some time. The Northwest Pro4 Alliance is thrilled to have Lois Pollard-Grant and her husband George, from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, to join the series for 2010. For those of you who do not know, Victoria is an island.

Lois is a two-time International Mini Stock 4’s champion at Western Speedway on the island; and, after visiting a few events this past season, she decided to make the move up to Pro4 cars. Usually, when a mini stock team moves up, they find a car from around the area; but, in the case of Lois and George, they found a car in North Carolina.

How does a mini stock racer from Canada who wants to race in a traveling series that visits three Northwest states in the U.S. find a Pro4 in the heart of NASCAR country? Well, Lois has a brother, Larry Pollard, who spent the better part of the 1980’s in the NASCAR Busch Series where he was a front runner, and he now lives in Taylorville, NC, and owns L.P. Gear, servicing the needs of many Hickory Motor Speedway race teams. Larry spotted a Pro4 at Hickory and passed the information to Lois.

Now the stage is set: A Canadian, lady driver from Victoria Island in a Pro4 from North Carolina, getting ready to race in the Northwest Pro4 Alliance at some of the best tracks in the northwest, against yet another fine group of rookie drivers and teams! This is a story that warrants ongoing follow-up all season; and, with the arrival date for the Pro4 around Christmas, we’re sure Lois will be spending a lot of time with, and in, her new race car. George will put a specialty paint job on the car and a big 97 to finish it off. Everyone at the Alliance wishes Pollard-Grant Racing the best of luck in this very interesting adventure.

The 2010 Northwest Pro4 Alliance Summer of Excitement Series III will kick off May 1st at the fast and fashionable Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval, located in East Wenatchee, WA, with the support of Miller Welding, K&N Filters, Lucas Oil Products, Race Engineering, Holly Performance, Rockett Brand Racing Fuel, Joes Racing Products, JE Pistons, Extreme Muffler, Crow Enterprizes, Race Car Supply, Pyrotect and KD Kanopy.
