BOISE, Idaho — Leighton Motorsports heads back to the Midwest this weekend for the ISOC AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series Milwaukee Mile Nationals. The event at draws a large spectator audience as the race is staged on the grounds of the famed Milwaukee Mile where NASCAR, Indy Car, and various Stock Car and Open Wheel series have competed for many years. The event is round two of the nine race championship series where the Leighton Motorsports team is already in championship form.

Trevor Leighton of Eagle, Idaho leads the Leighton Motorsports team into Milwaukee on the strength of his career best finish of second last weekend to kick off his championship hunt in the Junior 16/17 division. He looks to keep his momentum going this weekend and score his first career ISOC national victory. By virtue of his heat race finishes and feature finish last week, Leighton holds down the second spot in the standings heading into round two. Leighton will also compete in the Sport Super Stock #2 division this season. “I still stoked after the race last weekend,” Leighton said. “I can’t wait to get on course this weekend and hopefully we can get a win.”

Colby Crapo from St. Anthony, ID heads into Milwaukee on the strength of two top five feature finishes last weekend in both the Semi-pro Sport Super Stock #1 and #2 divisions. Crapo is on a quest to not only win championships this season but compete in the Winter X-Games in late January and every finish is critical for the 20-year old to qualify for the prestigious event. “We had good runs last weekend and we learned a few things that will help us this weekend,” Crapo said.

Stephen Edwards had the dominate performance heading into the feature race last weekend after scoring two heat race victories , but luck was not on his side as another rider (and snow machine) landed on his sled ending his feature race just as it was started. Edwards plans to turn that miscue into motivation this weekend and get back in the points hunt. “That wreck was a real bummer,” Edwards said. “The Leighton team is awesome and we will be ready again this weekend and I know we top.”

Leighton Motorsports is owned by Trace and Wendy Leighton of Eagle, Idaho and the team enters its second full season of competition on the ISOC tour. “We started off really well last weekend,” Leighton said. “I am so proud of all three riders and the team for making the first event of the year such a success. Now we just need to focus, work hard, and get the top spots.”

Leighton Motorsports is a factory sponsored Polaris Racing team with additional support from Fly Racing, C&A Pro Skis, Powermadd, Fox Racing Shox, HMK Snomobiling.Com, WPS, ROX, Woody’s, 139 Designs, 509, TekVest, Crapo Trucking, BMC West, McAlvain, Boise Cold Storage Company, Carl’s Cycle Sales, Ashley Heating & Air Conditioning, Starting Line Products, DJS Sports Marketing.
