MOORSEVILLE, North Carolina — Sue Roberson, General Manager of SMP Motorsports has announced that the team has signed Redding, California’s Steven Gannon to drive their pavement late model in select races in the Southeast US in 2010, starting with the SPEEDFEST 2010 at Lanier National Speedway Braselton, Georgia on January 31, 2010.
“SMP Motorsports is excited to be able to get Steven to drive the car for us this year” said Sue. “This is a very experienced and talented young driver that has already shown he has what it takes to be a winner and a champion. He has already won some prestigious super late model races and championships on the West Coast.”
Steven will be paired for the first time with veteran crew chief Brian Haynes. “I am ready to get this racing season underway” claims Brian. “I am looking forward to having the opportunity to
work with Steven. Steven is a second generation driver, his father Roger, is a many time track champion with over 250 feature wins, who I had raced with for many years. This young man has learned his skills from a very talented father, this will be fun to watch"
