“We tested the West Car twice at the Bullring and once at Tucson and we’re pleased with our comfort level with the cars. The Showdown is a big event and we hope to have a good quality run.” stated Newberry. “We had a great season in the SRL last year, which put us in position to have the opportunity to run the Showdown. I have to give a big thanks to Gary Collins (Crew Chief), the entire NTS Motorsports team, Tropix Clothing and Syndex Ready Mix for their efforts to make this happen.”
Newberry and his NTS team will bring two former RCR Nationwide cars to this weekend’s event at Irwindale. NTS Motorsports plans to run for the 2010 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series championship along with as many K&N Pro Series events as possible.
“This is an exciting way to start our season and we hope we have a good showing in the Tropix/Syndex #29.” Newberry concluded.
Following this weekend’s Showdown, Newberry and the NTS Motorsports Team’s next event will be the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series season opener at Roseville’s All-American Speedway on March 27th.
