EAGLE, Idaho — Leighton Motorsports driver Colby Crapo from St. Anthony, Idaho finally got the proverbial monkey off his back by scoring his first podium finish of the season with a second place effort in the ISOC AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series Eastern National Semi-Pro Super Stock #1 main event.
The event from Farmington, NY is the first of three consecutive weekends of racing for the national tour and for Crapo the event is pivotal for his championship hopes. Crapo has been fast all season but bad luck in the feature events has hampered his efforts. His finish tonight will go a long way in turning his season around.
"It feels great to finally get on the podium," Crapo said. "I need to thank Trace and Wendy (Leighton- Team Owners) for all of their support and a special thanks to our crew led by Kyle Zarimba. I dedicate this finish to Sam McLam who died one year ago today. I am thinking of you buddy."
The Leighton Motorsports team returns to action tomorrow in day two of the event with Stephen Edwards and Trevor Leighton joining Crapo.
