
LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The Bullring, Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s NASCAR-sanctioned 3/8-mile asphalt oval, will open its 2010 short-track stock car racing season on Saturday, March 20.
The highlight of the 2010 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series opener is a 100-lap, $2010-to-win NASCAR Super Late Model feature. Also on the high-speed opening-night card are: Chargers, Bombers and U.S. Legend Cars International-sanctioned Thunder Roadsters, Bandoleros and Legend Cars.
Spectator gates will open at 5 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m. The Bullring features a family-friendly dollar menu at its concession stands, including $1 soda, $1 hot dogs and $1 beer.
Defending champions include: Jeff Connors (NASCAR Super Late Models), Henderson’s Phil Goodwin (Chargers), “Big Jim” Sherard (Bombers), Dylan Kwasniewski (Legend Cars Pro), Frank McCourt (Legend Cars Master), Brandon Snow (Legend Cars Semi-Pro), Robert D’Ambra (Legend Cars Developmental), Jarod Carpenter (Thunder Roadsters), Patrick O’Hanley (Bandolero Young Guns) and 12-year-old Kayli Barker (Bandolero Bandits).
The Bullring will hold three preseason practice sessions prior to the March 20 opener: Saturday, March 6 (10 a.m.-4 p.m., gates open at 9 a.m.; $75 for car and driver, $10 for crewmembers), Sunday, March 14 (practice session – 10 a.m.-4 p.m., gates open at 9 a.m.; $75 for car and driver, $10 for crewmembers) and Friday, March 19 (practice and USLCI national points races).
