WILLOW SPRINGS KART CLUB READIES FOR ROUND 2

ROSAMOND, California — The second round of the Willow Springs Kart Club (WSKC) 2010 season is set for Sunday, March 14 at their home track on the grounds of the Willow Springs International Motorsports Park. WSKC - host of the 2010 International Kart Federation (IKF) 2-Cycle Grand Nationals - opened the year in February with the first round of the nine race club championship season. The first event also marked the start of the new five-race mini series Willow Springs Kart Club has put together to build momentum toward the IKF Grand Nationals with round two set for this weekend.

The mini series within the club championship will award free entries to nine of the club classes for the IKF 2-Cycle Sprint Grand Nationals, scheduled for June 22-26 at the Willow Springs Kart Track. For the five events leading up to the Grand Nationals (February 21, March 14, April 18, May 16, June 19), a best four of five points chase will be tabulated in each of the nine categories with the top WSKC member driver awarded one free entry to the prestigious event.

WSKC has also assembled a large prize purse for the five-race mini-series leading up to the Grand Nationals. Counting the best four of five results allow those who missed out on round one to enter the mini-series this weekend with a chance at earning a prize or even the championship. The following is a break-down of the prizes:

1st place - Free entry IKF G.N. and one set of Bridgestone tires

2nd place - 1 set of Douglas Wheels

3rd place - RLV sprocket and 219 chain

4th place - Scribner fuel jug and 3 bottles of Burris 2 cycle oil

5th place - TRP Mechanics gloves and 3 bottles of Burris 2 cycle oil

Each points champion and the rest of the top-five finishers will also have their names entered into a drawing for a GPS system for the MyChron 4 from AIM Sports and selected drivers could have their name drawn for one class at the Cory Kruseman’s Sprint Car and Midget Driving School. To be eligible, a competitor must enter a minimum of four races and be a WSKC 2010 member. In total, 45 lucky drivers could walk away from the mini-series with some sort of prize in addition to experiencing fun and exciting racing here at Willow Springs

“The 2010 season is an exciting time for the Willow Springs Kart Club,” stated TIMI Promotions Mike Manning. “Hosting the IKF 2-Cycle Sprint Grand Nationals in June will be a great way to show the karting community to the strong program we have built here. With the mini-series we have created, our goal is to reward those that support us along with give an incentive for those outside our program to join in. I’d like to thank the all the members of the Willow Springs Kart Club and those companies that are supporting our program.”

The opening round of the 2010 season saw some great racing take place. Eleven classes in total will compete on the day with only those offered at the IKF 2-Cycle Grand Nationals part of the mini-series - Kid Karts, PRD Spec, Junior 1 Comer, Junior 1 KPV, TaG Junior, TaG Senior Light, Junior Super Sportsman Pipe, Junior 2 KPV, Senior Super Sportsman Pipe. Also competing on the day will be the 125cc shifterkart group and TaG Senior Heavy. The weather forecasted for the weekend is set for perfect racing weather, thus giving racers a great chance to enjoy a day at the track
