PERRIS, California — Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian announced on Monday that the winner of the 30-lap Late Model main event on March 27th would be paid $1,200.00. It will be the first Late Model race at The PAS since November of 2008. Joining the Late Models on the 27th will be the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars and the West Coast Street Stocks (PASSCAR Super Stocks).
Fast qualifier in the Late Models will take home an extra $100.00.
In January Kazarian said, “I had a meeting with veteran racer Jim Giardina about a month ago. He and several of the other local drivers (Late Model) wanted us to bring them back.”
The Late Model shows (they will also be at The PAS on July 24th) will be open competition and there will be no organization for drivers to join.
When asked if this means more Late Model shows in 2011 Kazarian said, “I hope so, but lets see how it works out first. If it is beneficial to the racers, fans and the track, we would love to have them back for more shows in 2011. In fact, we may have them back an extra time or two in 2010.”
