IRVINE, California — Redding, Calif. standout Kyle Cattanach, has been named driver of the #88 Superior Crankshaft Chevrolet for the 2010 SRL SPEARS Southwest Tour Series.

Cattanach, the former North State Challenge Series runner-up and rookie of the year and ASA Speed Truck Series runner-up, will embark on his SRL Series debut in a car fielded by veteran crew chief Mike Naake of Motorway Motorsports.

“I am extremely excited to have Kyle driving for us in 2010,” Superior Crankshaft Motorsports Marketing Manager Marty Melo said. “Kyle’s resume in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and Late Models made him the prime candidate for this position and we feel he will be a great spokesman for our products.”

Cattanach will relocate back to his native Redding after spending several seasons in North Carolina as a crew chief, fabricator, and part-time entrant in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. His first asphalt start for Superior Crankshaft netted a fifth place finish at Shasta Raceway Park in October.

Motorway Motorsports of Roseville, Calif., has competed in a limited schedule in the SRL Series, earning two top-fives and three top-tens in five starts over the past two seasons and also fields’ fulltime K&N Pro Series teams and a part time Camping World Truck team.

Cattanach’s efforts behind the wheel of the Superior Crankshaft Chevrolet will begin March 20th with testing at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. The SRL Spears Southwest Tour begins its series March 26 and 27 at All American with a 125 lap event slated for Saturday night’s competition. The races are part of the Toyota/NAPA Bonus Challenge weekend including the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, and are expected to draw well over 5,000 fans.

Kyle Cattanach is sponsored by: Superior Crankshaft, Pepper Jack Kennels, Viva Auto Group, Naake Suspension Services, Johnnie Walker Performance Center, K&N Filters, B&B Redding I-5 RV Center, Shell Fast Track Food & Fuel and supports Shanesway.org
