NEW SEASON SETS NEW DIRECTION FOR THOMPSON MOTORSPORTS

JEROME, Idaho — When Brett Thompson began his racing career more than a decade ago he shared the dream that many young people have about racing in the big leagues. And while he has yet to make a NASCAR Sprint Cup start, Thompson has achieved many milestones in racing that would make most envious.

"“We are starting a second NASCAR K&N Pro Series team with Taylor Barton coming on board along with preparing cars for several customers. We have a very busy year planned."Brett Thompson

After more than 100 starts in NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series and selected starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Thompson is expanding his racing operation to support up and coming drivers at various levels while at the same time getting behind the wheel in several different series’.

“We are pretty excited about this season,” Thompson said. “We are starting a second NASCAR K&N Pro Series team with Taylor Barton coming on board along with preparing cars for several customers. We have a very busy year planned.”

Joining TMS this year is veteran crew chief Charlie Wilson who brings a winning tradition and attitude after many years back east. “Charlie helped me last year with my trucks and we really hit it off well and I am so excited to have Charlie join the team.”

The driver lineup at Thompson Motorsports for 2010 brings together a talented group of racers with a winning attitude. Brett Thompson will compete in five NASCAR K&N Pro Series races, three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events, and contest the entire CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series schedule in search of the series championship.

Taylor Barton out of Las Vegas, NV will make his NASCAR K&N Pro Series debut at All American Speedway next week and add four more series starts along with two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events to his schedule. Barton is taking the next step in his racing career after successful stops in Go-Karting, Legend Cars, and Super Late Model racing.

“I am really excited to join the Thompson Motorsports team,” Barton stated. “We just put this deal together so our first time on the track will be at Roseville, but I am really confident in the team and very excited to compete in NASCAR.”

Barton brings FullTiltPoker.Net into NASCAR with plans to continue up the racing ladder. Barton is a spokesperson for the Boys & Girls Club in Las Vegas and through his association he met the principles at FullTiltPoker and a partnership was born.

“It means a lot to have a committed sponsor like FullTiltPoker.Net on board,” Barton said. “We are running a partial schedule this season with plans to add more races later in the year and run a full campaign next season.”

Also turning laps in a Thompson Motorsports prepared K&N Pro Series car is veteran road-racer Rick Boysal from San Ramon, CA. Boysal will compete in three roadcourse events this season.

“I am thrilled to team up with Thompson Motorsports for the NASCAR roadcourse events this season,” Boysal said. The Thompson team brings a great deal of experience, support, and technical expertise.”

Joining Thompson in the RMCS will be John Wong and Kenny Vanderham competing in the popular regional Late Model series. The RMCS schedule has ten stops at four different racing facilities in the region. The series is known for its 20-car starting grid inverts making for one of the most exciting shows in racing.

Drew Reitsma and Kent Jensen, both of Twin Falls, ID, will drive Thompson Motorsports prepared vehicles in the Intermountain Pro Truck series. “We have a lot of optimism about the season ahead,” Thompson stated. “We feel we have equipment capable of winning races and being competitive everywhere we go. Now its time to go racing.”

Thompson Motorsports is owned by Rich Thompson and has nine full-time employees preparing race cars and trucks for seven different drivers competing in four different racing series. “We have taken on a lot but at the same time we have been able to build something really special here,” Brett Thompson said. “Our goal is to continue to grow and create a long-term opportunity for all of our employees.”
