EAGLE, Idaho — The Eagle based Leighton Motorsports team is set for the final round of the ISOC AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series this weekend in Lake Geneva, WI. The team has been on a role scoring four straight podium finishes in the last for event including a thrilling victory by Colby Crapo in the last event.

"Racing is a lot of fun when you run up front and winning make all the difference in the world."Colby Crapo

Colby Crapo of St. Anthony, ID has continued to gain momentum throughout the season and with his victory two weeks ago in Hayward, he sits third in the National ISOC Semi-Pro SS#1 championship standings just 24 points out of second. While the series championship may be out of reach, the 20-year old is solely focused on one thing and that is winning his second national event of the season.

“Racing is a lot of fun when you run up front and winning make all the difference in the world,” Crapo said. “I am fortunate to drive for a great team in Leighton Motorsports and to be able to ride the best Polaris sleds in the business. I feel we have all the pieces in place and winning would be a great way to close out the season.”

Crapo kept his skills sharp by competing last weekend in the Mountain West Racing finale picking up the overall points championship for the second year in a row winning three of four races.

Trevor Leighton of Eagle who competes in the National ISOC Junior 16/17 and Sport Super Stock class also competed in MWR action this past weekend helping team Polaris secure the manufacturers championship. Leighton sits third in the national standings heading into Lake Geneva.

Leighton has an outside shot at the over title, but he will have to have a near perfect weekend in order to make it happen. Leighton is 12 points out of second place and 40 points behind the leader.

“We gave up a lot of points early in the year and they are hard to get back,” Leighton said. “I like Lake Geneva and the opportunity to set a guy up and pass. It will be fun and hopefully this is the weekend for my first national win.”

Leighton Motorsports is a factory sponsored Polaris Racing team with additional support from Fly Racing, C&A Pro Skis, Powermadd, Fox Racing Shox, HMK Snomobiling.Com, WPS, ROX, Woody’s, 139 Designs, 509, TekVest, Crapo Trucking, BMC Select, McAlvain, Boise Cold Storage Company, Carl’s Cycle Sales, Ashley Heating & Air Conditioning, Starting Line Products, and DJS Sports Marketing.
