GOMEZ GEARED FOR K&N PRO SERIES SUCCESS

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — Jonathon Gomez, driver of the Heritage Cattle Co. Chevrolet from Twin Falls, Idaho will make will embark on a very busy race schedule this season that will see him compete in over 30 racing events beginning with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour this weekend at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA. Gomez will make his ninth start in the K&N Series and despite the limited number of starts, the team feels they are a championship contender.

"You have to have a setup that allows you to pass high or low"Jonathon Gomez

Guided by race winning and championship crew chief Craig Raudman, Gomez and his team have spent the winter building a first rate organization complete with first class equipment. "We did not get into this deal to run mid-pack," stated owner John Gomez (Jonathon father). "We know we have a lot to learn but at the same time we have to be able to complete at the same level as the more established teams."

During the Showdown event back in January, Gomez showed his prowess behind the wheel coming from two-laps down after cutting a tire early in the race to run inside the top ten late in the event only to be caught up in some other's mess. "I was disappointed about the finish at the Showdown but very excited about how good our car was," Gomez said. "I am really excited to get on track at All American and see what we can do."

Short track racing has a lot of variables that determine the outcome of every race and close contact is one of them. "You have to have a setup that allows you to pass high or low," Gomez offered. "Craig (Raudman) has really given me a lot of confidence when it comes to passing and knowing how far to push it."

Another variable that will come into play Saturday night is qualifying. "We have struggled a bit qualifying but over the past month we have tested and worked on a package we fell will move us closer to the front," Gomez continued. "We know if we are going to be competitive it starts with qualifying. I think the race at All American is going to be a really big test for our team and a test I know we will pass with flying colors."

Jonathon Gomez begins his fifth year of competitive racing having won local track titles at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls and competed in various Late Model events the past couple of seasons. He has started eight NASCAR K&N Pro Series races since 2008 scoring three top ten finishes. Gomez will also be behind the wheel of the Bob Strandwold SRL Southwest Tour car this season focused on a series championship in the SRL as well.

Jonathon Gomez is supported by Heritage Cattle Company, Century Boatland, J&C Custom Harvesting, and Gomez Farms. The race at All American Speedway will be broadcast on SPEED Channel on Thursday, April 8 at 3 PM PT. For more information on Jonathon Gomez, please log onto his website at www.jonathongomez.com.
