SCOTT GAYLORD DRIVER LOG - LUCKY 13

Finishing 13th was not so bad in a road course car at California Speedway. 13 is also the number of years that Oliver Gravity Separators has been our sponsor in the NASCAR Winston West series which is probably a record for the longest running sponsor. That is something we are all proud of. The Oliver racing team and company are both located in Colorado.

The Oliver Gravity Separators #00 Monte Carlo started 23rd but with great pit work and consistency on the race track we were able to finish 13th. We were hoping to stay in the top 10 in the championship points, which we did, and found ourselves 7th after this event. The bad thing was that this broke our streak of top 10's finishes in the last 6 races. We do not have a speedway car that has aerodynamic capabilities necessary for the bigger tracks so we have to use our road course car "Chief" who is currently getting a transformation for Laguna Seca on the 20th of May. Chief led a number of laps at Laguna Seca last year before a broken drive shaft dropped us to a 12th place finish.

We will be a Irwindale the 12th of May and hope to start our streak of wins... We finished 3rd at Irwindale last year.
