ANTELOPE, California — The weekend could not have been scripted better for the No. 12 NAPA Gold Filters Toyota team and Drive for Diversity driver Paulie Harraka. The young driver from Bill McAnally Racing put the No. 12 Toyota Camry on the pole, led the most laps and brought home back-to-back wins at the team’s home track in Roseville, California.
"The No. 12 NAPA Toyota Camry jumped off the starting line, which was really important. As soon as I heard my spotter Joe Goodrich say ‘clear by 1 (car length)’ I knew the win was ours."— Paulie Harraka
"The No. 12 Toyota Camry wasn't that great when we unloaded it, and we struggled a bit through the first practice session,” said Harraka, “but we got some great NAPA parts for it for the second round of practice and made it a ton better.”
“I still can't believe we qualified on the pole by that much. We were one of the earlier cars to hit the track, so I went up to the spotter's stand with my crew chief Duane Knorr to watch the rest of the cars go out. What a nail-biting thing to go through! There were a lot of good cars at the end, but, fortunately none were as good as our NAPA Gold Filters Toyota.”
"Tonight was old school short track racing at its best. Right from the beginning, the racing was tight and doors were banging. Fortunately for us, NAPA has the toughest parts you can buy, and with our “NAPA know how”, we were able to hold everyone off and bring this one home.”
“When the final caution came out, things were pretty tense over the radio,” continued Harraka. “I asked the crew to be as quiet as possible so I could focus. The No. 12 NAPA Toyota Camry jumped off the starting line, which was really important. As soon as I heard my spotter Joe Goodrich say ‘clear by 1 (car length)’ I knew the win was ours."
This win came before a sold-out crowd at All American Speedway. Harraka spent some time after qualifying signing autographs for hundreds of fans in NAPA Hospitality and on the midway. The team would like to thank them for all their support.
