Saturday March 27th saw Race Liberante (15) of Quartz Hill, CA made his first start of the season at the Orange Show Speedway in the new for 2010 Tour Trucks Division. This season Liberante will be competing a full season in the new Tour Trucks division at Orange Show piloting the #6, Pro Racing Specialties Chevy S10.

"Putting the truck on pole was a great feeling. It felt even better when you consider we missed the Friday night practice session. "Race Liberante

With only three previous starts in the former ASA Speed Trucks touring series, Race Liberante is still considered a truck racing “rookie”. Qualifying on the pole with a time of 13.969 seconds Liberante was anything but a rookie and sent a message to the field that he intends to be a serious contender for Orange Show Speedway 2010 Tour Truck Division points’ title.

“Putting the truck on pole was a great feeling. It felt even better when you consider we missed the Friday night practice session. We showed up on race day, rolled her out for practice, and I was thrilled with the qualifying performance” Race Liberante.

A random draw resulted in a 6 truck inversion putting Liberante on the outside of row three for the start of the main. At the drop of the green flag Race powered the white #6 truck around the high line to put his PRS machine into 3rd place by turn 4 of the opening lap. By the end of the second lap he had settled into second place.

“The PRS crew made some adjustments before the start of the main to tighten the truck up for a long run. Lap after lap the truck really started to come in and I was able to start pressuring the leader” Race.

On lap 14, the leaders spun after coming together as Liberante pushed for the lead. Restarting at the rear of the field with only ten laps remaining young Liberante once again demonstrated his wheel craft and the power of his PRS Chevy S10 by making his way back to third by the final lap.

“With a bit more patience I’m really confident we would have won tonight. I knew sitting behind the leader that if I could get around him I would be able to drive away” Race.

“Race did an excellent job putting the truck on pole, battling back to third and bringing it home in one piece. The entire PRS team is really excited for the rest of the season after his performance” Al Simpson

Race Liberante and ProRacing Specialties will be back at Orange Show Speedway for race two of the Tour Trucks series on Saturday April 24th.

Race Liberante wants to thank Orange Show Speedway for the new Trucks class, Pro Racing Specialties, Franks Radio, Alpinestars, Crow Enterprise, Nick Jennings, and his Mom & Dad.
