MARYSVILLE, Washington — It is with deep regret that officials of the ASA Northwest Late Model Tour and Southsound Speedway have had to cancel the May 1st event. With a sponsor pulling out it was not financially feasible to hold the event.
Both parties will continue to try to bring the Northwest’s premier super late model series to Southsound Speedway in Rochester, WA.
Scott Ellsworth ASA NWLMT Director said “It is unfortunate that we will not be at Southsound this season. Without a sponsor it just would not be good sense. I have been assured by the officials at Southsound a date in 2011 is doable. I am truly sorry for any team or fan that this inconveniences. ”
Next up for the ASA NWLMT will be a trip over the border into Canada on May 15th. The series continues its season with a 125-lap feature on the fast half-mile oval of Sun Valley Speedway in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada.
