After testing at Irwindale Speedway last week, the Borneman Motorsports Team is feeling good for this weekend’s Food 4 Less 250 at Irwindale.
"We tested with the same car that we sat on the front row with at that track last season. The car worked good, the only difference this time is Hoosier is bringing a different tire then last year," said Johnny Borneman.
The team suffered a miscue at the California Speedway in Fontana when Borneman’s earpiece was cutting in and out. Said Borneman, "My crew-chief Mike Harvick had said to pit for gas one lap earlier. I never heard him and the fuel ran out at the start finish line.”
It was a setback, but the team is still pumped up and looking forward to the next two events. The team has led laps at both of the tracks, the highly touted Los Angeles short track at Irwindale and the world famous road course, The Mazda Speedway at Laguna Seca in Monterey.
Said team manager Don Lincoln, “With racing anything can and will happen, but we are hoping to make up some ground in the points at the next two events. When the team gets to Kansas City and the new Kansas Speedway they will be competing in both the NASCAR Winston West race and the ARCA race.
Be sure and watch for the Borneman Motorsports team and their talented driver in the televised ARCA race.![]()
