CHAMPIONSHIPS BEGIN AND END AT THE LUCAS OIL I 10 SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY NIGHT IN BLYTHE, CALIFORNIA

SANTEE, California — As the ASA Truck Series season is just getting underway for Round Two, the local racers at the Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway will wrap up their 2009-2010 Winter Blast Racing Season Saturday night, April 24th, at the quarter mile paved oval located at the Colorado River Fairgrounds in Blythe-California. Everyone involved in racing knows the excitement and anticipation of deciding a championship. The talented group of drivers who make up the ASA Truck Series are creating their championship battle as they travel across the desert to the I 10 Speedway.

Dylan Kwasniewski, in his Rockstar Energy Drink Chevy Colorado, is ready to defend his impressive win a few weeks ago at the Havasu 95 Speedway. Kwasniewski came out strong but will have to fend off the competition of his United Nissan teammates Joey Licata and Mike Herda. Returning to the ASA Truck Series in Blythe is Jeff Catlin from Gilbert, Arizona who has supported the series for many years, is finishing building a brand new ASA Truck and ready to show his veteran moves to the newcomers from California like Eric Sloan and Taylor Miinch. Both Sloan and Miinch are Rookie-of-the-Year contenders who demonstrated level headed racing skills at the last event and are sure to be up front in the remaining events. Austin (the Bullet) Barnes from Escondido, CA will make his debut in the ASA Truck Series on Saturday night. Austin has the backing of STR's Steve Teets and his dad, Tedd, as his experience ranges from mini dwarfs (at age four), to multiple go kart championships, to Lucas Oil modifieds and Super Late Model cars which is a strong resume for a fifteen year old! He hopes to blend into the ASA Truck series with drivers he has faced in other series like Donny St. Ours and Branden Underwood.

The ASA Truck Series will bring a clean and exciting show to the I 10 Speedway with their feature event 100 lap race between rookies and veterans alike. As veterans like Jim Putman and soon-to-be father Shawn Steele prepare their trucks, the stage is being set for a championship battle that will continue all season across numerous tracks throughout the Southwest. Zach Sawyers will be traveling from the LA area in California in attempt to conquer the fast 1/4 mile track. Joey Licata is poised to win his first event this season after just coming up short in Havasu. That elusive victory is close for Licata and his team. The ASA Truck teams will add excitement to a night of championships in Blythe on Saturday night before 'turning the trucks' and getting ready for the first road course race of the season at Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona next weekend where drivers like Mike Kai and Taylor Cuzick are scheduled to return to the series as well.
