Miinch Motorsports driver Taylor Miinch is set to make his second appearance in the ASA (American Speed Association) Truck Series this Saturday at Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway in Blythe, California.
Twelve entries are preregistered for the 100-lap ASA Truck Series main event on the 1/4-mile paved oval with this weekend’s race attracting competitors from Arizona, California and Nevada to battle it out on the Blythe ‘Colorado River Fairgrounds’ track.
The young ASA Truck Series 2010 Rookie-of-the-Year contender feels his recent practice at Orange Show Speedway (San Bernardino, California) has his No.20 Championship Karting International / Christian Stover Foundation / Alpine Stars Chevrolet Colorado ready to take on another small track oval this weekend.
At the first ASA Truck Race April 3 at Havasu I-95, Miinch did well considering an ongoing electrical issue that was unable to be resolved before the race. He qualified tenth out of 12 entries while continuing to have problems with the power of his No.20 Championship Karting International / Christian Stover Foundation / Alpine Stars Chevrolet Colorado truck during the qualifying session. During the race, Miinch was able to hang on to his powerless truck for an eighth place finish.
With one race already on the records for the Alpine (Calif.) racer, Miinch is showing progress and determination while grasping the truck program pretty quickly. “I am very impressed with Taylor’s understanding of the truck handling, being able to communicate the feeling of the truck and then adapting to the changes made to the truck at each test session and practice we have done so far,” stated Miinch’s crew chief, Kevin Clark.
The next ASA Truck Series race for the Christian High School Sophomore will be May 1, taking the ASA Truck Series to their first of two road course races for the year on the 1.2 mile Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona.
Miinch, 15, claimed a pair of top-five karting finishes in his TaG Senior class at his recent WSK North American Series by CKI races. Piloting his Team Top Kart P1 Engines kart at the New Castle Motorsports Park facility in Indiana on April 10-11.
Taylor Miinch and Miinch Motorsports would like to thank the following Sponsors, Companies and Associations for their sponsorship and returning support in 2010: CKI (Championship Karting International), Christian Stover Foundation, Alpine Stars, Crystal Cleaners, Jon Dell Construction, VP Racing Fuels, Grand Products, Top Kart, Charlie’s Hub Caps, Motul Oil and Image on Trak.

ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN STOVER FOUNDATION
Denny and Kim Stover established the Christian Stover Foundation in memory of their son. In life, Christian was a shining light and inspiration to so many both young and old, alike. His 16 years were filled with so many accomplishments, as he was a scholar, athlete, and accomplished race car driver. But most importantly, he had the most incredible spirit that touched so many people and he made friends wherever he went. He was humble and knew that life was short so he always lived it to the fullest. Christian's favorite quote was "It's not the length of life, but the depth of life," profound as it embodied his time here on earth perfectly. Christian was greatly influenced by the years he spent growing up in San Diego's East County and it is our hope that this fund established in Christian's name will be able to give back to the community that Christian was so proud to be a part of. Specifically, the foundation will grant scholarships and donate needed funds to the schools of San Diego's East County region.
