NORTHWEST PRO4 ALLIANCE KICKS OFF SEASON AT WENATCHEE VALLEY SUPER OVAL

BOISE, Idaho — The Northwest Pro4 Alliance will open its fourth season of four cylinder late model racing at the Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval this weekend with the TC Transportation 75. Over 30 of the best Pro4 cars in the west will be on hand to race the fast and tricky quarter mile oval.

Defending Alliance Champion, Matt Melby, will head the list of talented drivers in what is sure to be one of the most competitive races to date. Two-time Alliance Champion, Kameron McKeehan, and defending race winner Rick Thompson, along with 2008 WVSO winner John Grosvenor, will also be on hand to challenge Melby’s run for a second championship.

This event will also mark the biggest payday in Alliance history, as the first team to cross under Troy Blanton’s checkered flag will receive $1200.00 for the win. Perhaps this explains the interest of several other prominent Pro4 drivers and teams, such as 2009 Meridian Speedway (ID) Pro4 Champion Rob Powers who has rejoined with Mike Bailey to race for the win; and Utah’s Kurt Madsen will be back with Garrett Doyle in the #1 Honda, while seven-time Meridian Speedway Champion Ken Chandler will be on hand with his new Corvette to chase the pot of gold at the end of the 75-lapper.

A huge crop of 2010 Rookies will be tutored by the 2009 South Sound Speedway Rookie of the Year Shelby Minor-Ball, and 2009 Alliance Rookie of the Year Steve Schovares, as these two up-and-coming drivers have entered as well. Terry Rennick will again field a two-car operation with California’s “Fast Eddie” Secord in his second car. Secord also competes on the Bakersfield, California, based Spears SRL Southwest Tour. Rumsey Racing will also field their family operated two-car team with Bud and Johnny Rumsey doing the driving.

But the excitement is only beginning, as the Alliance will provide its race teams with over $2000.00 worth of product and cash awards. Bob Jackson Body Repair from Lewiston, Idaho, will pay cash awards for the Fast Time qualifier and the Trophy Dash winner. John Jackson, the “Pro4 Iron Man” Dan Hale (69- years young), Brad Carpenter and Jeff Jones, will all be seeking to take that cash. And this is just the tip of the iceberg! So reset your excitement meter and be at the Super Oval for a fantastic night of racing!

The Northwest Pro4 Alliance is now entering its fourth season, which would not be possible without the help of these fine companies: K&N Filters, Miller Welding, Performance Bodies, Race Engineering, Lucas Oil Products, Pyrotect, Extreme Muffler, Crow Enterprizes, Joes Racing Products, Holley Performance, Rockett Brand Racing Fuel, Race Car Supply and JE Piston. This year, we want to give a special thank you to TC Transportation, First Class Auto Sales, Pool Care Products, Hi-Way Auto and Prosser Automotive a NAPA dealer for their participation in the 2010 Winners Bonus Program.
