
David Miller scored his first main event win of the season and increased his points lead over his fellow Snapware Glasslock Late Model drivers on Saturday night at the Douglas County Speedway. Miller set the standard for the night by qualifying fast time over local racer Dale Roth while Eric Gannon of Redding, California took home some hardware in the trophy dash.
Bobby Barnes mirrored Miller’s performance by also setting fast time and winning his first main event in the12 car street stock field. Rookie Daniel Jobe claimed second place and increased his point lead over Vince Christian who appears to be on track for what could be the best year of his career and sits second in the points battle thanks to his heat win and a third place finish in the main event.
The Old Time Racers of Oregon continue an impressive display of racing, as Bill Trotter held off Mike Batman in another main event photo finish. Trotter also won the fast heat with Mark Minter posting the fastest time of the evening in qualifying. Batman still took home some hardware by claiming the trophy dash win.
The Taco Bell Hornets had another full field, starting 22 cars in the main event, which was claimed by Oakland resident Andy Nelson Sr. Nelson also set fast time in qualifying while Bob Vancil, Josh Brach, and Jake Dawson claiming heat wins. Rebecca Lane and son, Bailey Lane, both claim main event wins in the Lady and Junior Stinger features.
