"Leaving Phoenix with the finish that we ended up with is not what this team deserves. I am a better driver than that and these guys and GrapeKing should have had a better finish, on some days circumstances just cannot be controlled."— Josh Combs
The Phoenix round for the GrapeKing/Giumarra Vineyards team ended on the last lap of the race, collected while battling for a top ten finish during the Jimmie Johnson Foundation 100. “Leaving Phoenix with the finish that we ended up with is not what this team deserves. I am a better driver than that and these guys and GrapeKing should have had a better finish, on some days circumstances just cannot be controlled.”
This will be Combs’ first look at the Iowa Speedway facility this weekend. He is heading into a similar situation like the Toyota Shootout in January. The best teams from the K&N East Series will be in attendance at this dual event, a different car and a large racy track. “This weekend we are looking to make a statement, we are in the top five, the crowd in Iowa really comes out to support this race, this is a perfect situation for us as a team to do really well. A good finish at this track is what we need to get momentum going to finish the season strong. Bob Johns and the guys at Sunrise Ford Racing have been preparing this car for a while; we are going to have a great car for this event”
Josh would like to thank his marketing partners, GrapeKing, Giumarra Vineyards, Sunrise Ford, Lucas Oil, Oakley, Threewide Clothing, Finishline Racing Equipment, DJ Safety and Joe’s Racing Products.
