BOISE, Idaho — On Monday, two-time CarbonX Rocky Mountain Series champion Dave Minegar will be back in action at Rocky Mountain Raceways in West Valley, Utah, hoping to turn his season around. Minegar has had a tough start to the 2010 campaign but likes his chances at RMR on Memorial Day.

Minegar has scored two wins and seven top five finishes in 20 starts at RMR but is coming off a rare DNF where an oil leak sidelined his efforts three weeks ago. "I really like racing at RMR," Minegar said. "The track is wide and fast. We have had a lot of success there in the past and we have a car capable of winning. The longer race on Monday is really good for us as we are typically good the longer a race goes."
Rocky Mountain Raceways is a banked 3/8-mile paved oval that lends itself to two-wide and sometimes three-wide racing. "It really does not matter where you start at RMR," Minegar said. "There is so much room to pass, you just have to use patience and let the race come to you."
While Minegar knows he can turn his season around Monday night he also knows he has a big hole to dig out of sitting tenth in the standings 187-points out of first place. "I am really happy for guys like Steve Jones and Bruce Quale (winner's of the first events)," Minegar said. "It is great to see them both running so well this year. The field is really deep with talent and we are going to have to race mistake free the rest of the season if we are to catch them."
Minegar racing is sponsored by BodyBuilding.com, Redline, Gaspari Nutrition, Supreme Nutrition, MusclePharm, Optimum Nutrition, A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning, Lennox, and Dillon Auto Craft. Minegar is in his seventh season in the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series and is a two-time series champion (06, 08) with 53 career starts, six wins, 21 top five and 40 top ten finishes along with twenty (21) career Sharp Powder Coating Fast Time Awards and most career money won.
