The DAA Northwest Spec Motor Late Model Series presented by Sherwin Williams will make stop six of the series at Sunset Speedway Park located in Banks, Oregon this Saturday Night. All the top Dirt Late Model drivers in the Northwest will be on hand as they chase over $ 150,000 in prize and points fund money. The series will pay $5,000.00 to the 2010 Champion. At the last event at Willamette Speedway on Memorial Day Weekend the main event was rained out, so only qualifying and heat race points were awarded, the main event was rescheduled for June 26th.
Local favorite and winner of two main events so far in 2010, Greg Walters from Banks, Oregon continues to lead the point standings. Walters leads Steve Moore from Scio, Oregon by 13 points, 171 to 158. Many time Willamette Speedway Outlaw Late Model Champion Russ Sell holds down third position with 156 points. Fourth in the point standing with is Vancouver’s Jerry Schram with 153 points, one more than Lebanon’s Jason Wines who sits in fifth place with 153 points. Through the first five events 28 drivers have taken championship points.
Drivers expected to challenge for the win at Sunset include Jeremy Shank and Bob Boyd from Albany, Brady Sell from Albany, Aurora’s Billy Workman Jr and Vancouver’s Brandon Biffle, along with Brandon’s dad Jeff Biffle, Vancouver’s Jimmy Schram, Lebanon’s Brett James and Salem’s Terry Ferrando.
The DAA Northwest Spec Motor Late Model Series presented by Sherwin Williams is a 22 race series that will hold events at six venues in Oregon and Washington States.
