UKIAH, California — 15 year-old Trevor Cristiani battled from 13th on the grid at Ukiah Speedway on Saturday night to finish fourth in the 30 lap Modified feature.
Cristiani is a member of Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle who also drives Modifieds at All American Speedway and also runs select races in the Airport Auto Brokers Late Model Series.
The exceptional young driver qualified on the pole with a time of 13.287 seconds around the quarter-mile asphalt oval.
Cristiani finished at the back of both his heat race and his trophy dash before setting sights on the feature.
Starting 13th, Cristiani moved up to tenth by lap nine and swiftly joining the top-five by lap 16.
It only took three more laps for Cristiani to assume fourth position. 19 laps to pass nine cars on a quarter-mile oval is a pretty impressive feat.
Cristiani ran closely with the top-three all the way to the finish.
In 2010, Cristiani has nine starts, two poles, one top-five, and three top-tens. He has an average qualifying position of sixth, but has had his early season momentum slowed by bad luck in the main events.
“It’s great to see Trevor’s talent translate into good results,” stated head of development, Ron Sutton. “He is consistently one of the fastest cars in practice and qualifying wherever he goes. This should be a big summer for him!”
Trevor Cristiani will return to NASCAR Modified competition on Saturday June 19 at All American Speedway for a 40 lap feature.
