GRAPEKING/SUNRISE FORD TEAM WINE COUNTRY SWING

SACRAMENTO, California — Rolling Hills, Wine Country and another large field racing on a Saturday afternoon for the Thunder Valley Casino Resort 200. This will be Josh Combs first road course event since his kart racing days just a few years ago in Northern California. Heading into this weekend’s event the nineteen year old Rookie from Sacramento Ca, is coming off a twelfth place finish at the Roseburg event.

"Testing on a road course really helped me get a better idea of what to expect from these cars. I definitely learned that I can be a bit more aggressive on corner entry and using curbing. "Josh Combs

Josh recently tested at another road course in order to prepare for yet another track on the schedule where he has not had any laps on. “Testing on a road course really helped me get a better idea of what to expect from these cars. I definitely learned that I can be a bit more aggressive on corner entry and using curbing. This next event for our team is going to be real exciting. This track always gets a great crowd, maybe the biggest of the season. I am looking forward to getting the GrapeKing, Giumarra Vineyards car back out front.”

The Roseburg event for the GrapeKing/Giumarra Vineyards team concluded with a twelfth place finish. Josh Combs still finds himself in fifth place in the points standings for the K&N West Series. Combs sits within striking distance of third place in the points standings with just 37 points to make up.

The event at Infineon always brings out some of the best road racers that make this event a larger challenge than traditional events. Not only are you out to beat the best in the series, but also some of the best road racers in the country. Josh is looking forward to the opportunity being provided at Infineon Raceway to race with some of the best in the country.

Josh would like to thank his marketing partners, GrapeKing, Giumarra Vineyards, Sunrise Ford, Lucas Oil, Oakley, Threewide Clothing, Finishline Racing Equipment, DJ Safety and Joe’s Racing Products.

The Thunder Valley Casino Resort “200” can be seen on Thursday, June 24th on SPEED Channel at 3 pm PST.
