MONROE, Washington — Saturday night June 19, Alfy’s Pizza presents ‘Kids Night at the Races’ featuring the return of the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Street Stocks, Super Late Models, Foster Press Mini-Stocks, Renegade V8’s and the Cub Scouts of America Hornet Divisions. Plus it is Fire Safety Night with the ‘Guns & Hoses Grudge Match’.
Street Stock point leader Lane Sundholm is looking to make it five wins in row and six of his last seven mains. Even with that streak Sundholm only has a 4-point lead over Darrell Lutovsky and 6-points over Frank Cowgill.
The same type of point’s battle looms in the Super Stock division with Tom Moriarity leading Jeff Knight by 9-points. Moriarity has five of seven mains this season and the last two in succession.
Jon Roberts is the point leader of the Foster Press Mini-Stock division with a 19-point margin over Nat Barber. The division’s hottest racer Kris Harris has won his last two mains and sits third in points as he vies to defend his 2009 championship.
Another 19-point lead is held by Hornet division driver Jaime Corbett. Jon Wagner is second and trying to be the first female to win a championship in the Hornet division Joselyn LaFleur is third.
The ‘Guns & Hoses Grudge Match’ is a race in Hornet style cars between policemen and firemen from the surrounding communities.
