INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, May 22, 2001 - Maurice Lacroix Swiss Watches will present the winner of the 85th Indianapolis 500 with a truly unique and elegant gift for winning the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing."
The winner of the 2001 Indianapolis 500 will receive a handmade, 18-karat rose-gold Maurice Lacroix Indy 500 Masterpiece Flyback Annuaire valued at $10,000. It features the legendary flyback function that allows measurement of different timings without the need to stop and reset the hands to zero. Only 200 limited, special-edition timepieces are being created, commemorating the 200 hundred laps of the world-famous race.
In addition to the 18-karat gold body, the face is sterling silver, etched with a simulated checkered flag design. Each timepiece is individually numbered. The winner of the 85th Indianapolis 500 will receive Indy 500 Masterpiece Flyback Annuaire No. 85. The next 10 watches in sequence have been put in reserve to be presented to Indianapolis 500s winners for the next 10 years.
