The DAA Northwest Spec Motor Late Model Series presented by Sherwin Williams will visit Willamette Speedway located in the beautiful Lebanon Valley, this Saturday Night. In addition to the complete show they will run that will include, qualifying, trophy dash, heat races and main events. The DAA Late Model drivers will also run another feature that got postponed due to weather conditions from Memorial Day Weekend, so race fans will get to see double the main event action this Saturday Night at the fast ¼ mile clay oval in Lebanon. This will be the eighth scheduled race in the 22 race series, that will feature all the top Dirt Late Model drivers in the Northwest, as they will be on hand as they chase over $ 150,000 in prize and points fund money. The series will pay $5,000.00 to the 2010 Champion.
Many time Willamette Speedway Outlaw Late Model Champion Russ Sell from Brownsville will be looking to make it two wins in a row this Saturday, after winning the feature at Sunset Speedway in Banks, Oregon two weeks ago,. Sell moved into second in the point standings as he picked up valuable championship points, he trails Banks driver Greg Walters by only 5 points, 222 to 217. Moving into third position in the point standings is defending series Champion Jason Wines from Lebanon, Wines holds a slim 1 point lead over Brady Sell from Salem 203 to 202. Steve Moore from Scio, holds down fifth place with 199 points. Through the first six events 30 drivers have taken championship points.
Other drivers expected to challenge for the win include the Lebanon drivers Bob Boyd and Jeremy Shank, the Schram brothers from Vancouver Jerry and Jimmy, Canby’s Billy Workman Jr and Vancouver’s Brandon Biffle, along with Brandon’s dad Jeff Biffle, Lebanon’s Brett James and Salem’s Terry Ferrando, the Trout brothers, from Banks, Bob and Doug along with Beaverton’s Brittany Ray, Hillsboro’s Scott Puncochar is expected to make his first start of the year.
The DAA Northwest Spec Motor Late Model Series presented by Sherwin Williams is a 22 race series that will hold events at six venues in Oregon and Washington States. The tracks include Coos Bay Speedway in Coos Bay, Oregon , Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington , Madras Speedway in Madras, Oregon , Southern Oregon Speedway in Medford Oregon, Sunset Speedway Park in Banks, Oregon and Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Oregon
