EXCITEMENT DOUBLES WITH TWO DAYS OF RACING AT MERIDIAN

MERIDIAN, Idaho — Race fans will get to double their fun this weekend at ASA-sanctioned Meridian Speedway with thrills on the track and in the sky.

The speedway will have back-to-back nights of racing action on Saturday and Sunday, capping everything on the Fourth of July when the City of Meridian presents the Fireworks Spectacular for a third year.

It’s Boys and Girls Club Night on Saturday, and the ESI Express ASA Modifieds will hit the track for another double feature as drivers continue to chase points in the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member Track National Championship race as well as the Meridian series. Other classes on the pavement include the NAPA Latemodel Sportsman, Project Filter Pro-4s, Mini Stocks and Jr. Stingers.

On the Fourth of July, the Intermountain Vintage Sprintcars make their 2010 debut at the track after a rainout earlier this season. The series brings drivers at 50 years old and open-wheel race cars at least 30 years old out onto new banking at Meridian.

Also on tap are the Westby’s Bicycle Race for Kids and racing action with the Mtn. Dew Winged Sprintcars, Pepsi Sprintcars, Street Stocks and Tates Rents Hornets.

Both nights, the gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday admission is $10 for adults, $7.50 for senior citizens and military personnel with ID and $6 for children ages 7-11.

Sunday tickets are $12 for adults, $9.50 for seniors and military and $8 for children 7-11.

Children 6 and younger are free both nights

Fans can skip the long lines on race night and buy advance tickets at participating NAPA Auto Parts locations in the Treasure Valley.

The gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m.
