DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Thursday, July 1, 2010) - A great racing weekend is on tap at many ASA Member Tracks along with ASA sanctioned series in action as well. Many will have fireworks as part of their racing action. Here is a look to what is happening.
ASA MIDWEST TRUCK TOUR
(Madison International Speedway, Oregon, WI)
The trucks return to the track that once had Midwest Trucks as part of their weekly program. They will be a part of a great night of racing with the Big 8 Series and the weekly MIS divisions. The big question is...will someone other than Jerry or John Wood win?
ISCARS DASH TOURING SANCTIONED BY ASA
(Hickory Motor Speedway, Hickory, NC)
The compact stars return to the famed speedway for a twin feature event this Saturday night. Legends and East Coast Flat Heads will also be competing. Joey Jones and Danny Bagwell were the recent winners at Dillon Motor Speedway.
ASA INTERSTATE RACING ASSOCIATION SPRINT CAR SERIES
(Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, WI)
The fast 410 Winged Sprints will be in action twice this weekend. On Friday night, they visit the fast half-mile at Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, WI for the Sue Thiel Memorial. Then on Saturday, they will travel down to Wilmot Speedway for the Wayne Daun/Al & Marie Winker Memorial.
ASA MEMBER TRACKS
Will return to action on Friday, July 9th with a full racing program.
BIG COUNTRY SPEEDWAY
Will return to action on Saturday, July 10th. They will have fireworks on Saturday, July 17th.
CORPUS CHRISTI SPEEDWAY
(Corpus Christi, TX)
Mid-Season Championships will hightlight the racing action this Saturday night. The Bombers, Front Runners, Sport Mods, Super Street and Texas Thunder will all be in action.
DELLS RACEWAY PARK (Fireworks!!!)
(Wisconsin Dells, WI)
The North American Cup 50 for the Late Models and Fireworks from Thundercat Fireworks will highlight the action this Saturday night. The Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Bandits and Six Shooters will also be competing. Fan gates open at 4 p.m., qualifying at 4:30 p.m., racing at 6:30 p.m.
DESOTO SUPER SPEEDWAY
The annual Crash & Bash will take place this Saturday night. Action includes: School Bus Figure 8's, Boat & Trailer Pull, Enduro 50-lap race, Demolition Derby and much more. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and racing starts at 7:00 p.m.
DILLON MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Fireworks!!!)
A full racing program and fireworks are on tap this Saturday night. The Super Trucks, Chargers, Street Stocks, 4-cylinder, Mini Cup, and Jr. Bombers are in action. Plus a Fireworks Spectacular!!! Racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK
Returns to action on Saturday, July 10th with a full racing program and Kids Bike Races.
GRAYS HARBOR RACEWAY
Returns to action on Saturday, July 10th with a full racing program and fireworks.
HARTFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Fireworks!!!)
It will be a great night for family and friends to hop in the car and head to Hartford Motor Speedway this Friday night. It's $25 Car Load Night with Fireworks. Late Models, Modifieds, Stock Cars & Pure Stocks in action. Front Gates open at 6 p.m., Hot Laps at 7:00 p.m. and Racing at 8 p.m.
I-25 SPEEDWAY (Fireworks!!!)
A Night of Fire & Thunder is on tap at this Saturday night. The GA Modifieds, Sportsmans, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Hornets are in action. A Fireworks Extravaganza will cap off the night. Grandstands open at 3 p.m.
ILLIANA MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Fireworks!!!)
The 11th Annual Molenaar Memorial Mid-Season Championships and Fireworks with the Mad Bomber highlight the night of racing this Saturday night. All six division will be in action. Racing starts at 7:00 p.m.
INDE MOTORSPORTS RANCH
Celebrate 4th of July at Inde Motorsports! No speed limit, Old Glory's Birthday, and only American made cars equal the ultimate clebration of freedom! This event is open to all drivers and enthusiasts of American-made cars of any vintage. IMR will provide a barbecue lunch each day, corner workers, and emergency medical personnel. Registration has closed.
LEBANON I-44 SPEEDWAY (Fireworks!!!)
There will be fireworks both on and off the track this Saturday night as the annual 4th of July Fireworks show returns to the Lebanon I-44 Speedway. There will be a full night of racing in all classes of cars, all leading up to the fireworks show after the races are completed.
LONESOME PINE RACEWAY (Fireworks!!!)
The UARA Late Models will compete in a 150-lap feature this Saturday night along with Twin Legends, Street Stocks, Chargers, Pure 4 and Renegades. The night will be capped off with a huge fireworks display!!!
MADISON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY (Fireworks!!!)
The skies over MIS will light up on Friday, July 2 when Gordie Boucher presents the annual Fireworks Extravaganza orchestrated by ThunderCat Fireworks. You can't afford to miss the area's best fireworks display and you won't get any closer to the action than at MIS. Highlighting the racing program will be the Big 8 Late Model Series with a 48 lap feature. Over 40 cars are expected to battle it out on the half-mile for a spot in the feature. Also in action will be the ASA Midwest Truck Tour, Club LaMark Hobby Stocks, and International Four Cylinders all on the half-mile. Pit gates on Friday open at 3:30 with practice at 4:45, qualifying at 6:15 and racing at 7:30. Special event pricing applies to this event with adult admission set at $15.00.
MERIDIAN SPEEDWAY (Fireworks!!!)
Two big nights of racing will be on tap this weekend. On Saturday, its Boys and Girls Club Night with the Late Model Sportsman, ASA Modifieds, Pro-4's, Mini Stocks and Jr. Stingers. On Sunday, the City of Meridian presents a Fireworks Spectacular with Winged Sprint Cars, Pepsi Sprint Cars, Vintage Sprint Cars, Street Stocks and Hornets. Plus Bicycle races for kids and FIREWORKS!!!!
NORWAY SPEEDWAY (Fireworks!!!)
Start your Independence Day weekend in the U.P. of Michigan with a great night of racing and fireworks. A full racing program is scheduled with fireworks after racing. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
ORANGE SHOW SPEEDWAY
(San Bernardino, CA)
There's going to be a Raging Inferno at Orange Show Speedway Saturday night (July 3). There'll be a whole lot of trashed trailers, too. There's no reason for concern, though, no need to call the police or fire departments, because it will all be part of Best in the West Racing's Independence Day weekend show at the ASA Member Track adjacent to the National Orange Show. The JAM Sportswear Late Models, Team Too Pony Stocks and USAC Ford Focus Midgets and Jr. Midgets will supply the serious racing activity, the Raging Inferno will provide its own version of a fireworks show, and the evening will come to a close with another wildly entertaining and incredibly popular Figure 8 Trailer race that is expected to attract about 18 entries. Spectator gates will open at 4 p.m., with an on-track autograph session from 5:50 to 6:30 p.m. and the first race at 7 p.m. Tickets are priced at $10 for general admission and $8 for seniors (60 and older), students 11 to 18 and military personnel with valid identification. Children 10 and under are admitted free. A Family Pack, which includes admission for four plus a hot dog and small soft drink for each person, is priced at $45.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN RACEWAYS (Fireworks!!!)
(West Valley City, UT)
Super Modified Racing Association's Super Modifieds will return to Rocky Mountain Raceways for the Copper Cup Classic on Saturday, July 3 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. RMR classes that will also be racing include Maverik Modifieds, DEX Mini Cups, Focus Midgets, Figure 8 Cars and Western States Equipment Figure 8 Trains. Following the races, fans will enjoy a firework spectacular celebrating the Fourth of July. Adult admission is $20 and youth (5-12) are $10. Gates open at 4 p.m., Qualifying begins at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m.
SHANGRI LA II MOTOR SPEEDWAY
(Tioga Center, NY)
Shangri-La II Motor Speedway celebrates its first birthday along with our nation's birthday by presenting the Great American Classic this Saturday and Sunday, July 3-4, with racing at 5:00 p.m. each day. Saturday's lineup shows the Modifieds racing 35 laps, Street Stocks 20 laps, and the debut of the Allison Legacy Series North over a 15-lap distance. Sunday the ASA Late Models are featured for 30 laps, Sportsman Modifieds for 25 laps, Super Stocks for 20 laps, and the popular INEX Legends for 15 laps.
Will be back in action on Saturday, July 10th with Giant Fireworks!!!
SOUTHERN OREGON SPEEDWAY (Fireworks!!!)
The Firecracker 50 will highlight the action this Saturday night with a $1,000 to win Modified race. Pro Stocks, Super 4's, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks also in action. And...a Huge Fireworks Show!!!
STATE PARK SPEEDWAY (Fireworks!!!)
The Fireworks Country 75-lap Super Late Model Feature will highlight the action along with support divisions plus fireworks tonight. All service workers will get 1/2 price admission with ID. Plus, get the All-American Combo, hot dog and a soda for $2.50.
Returns to action on Saturday, July 17th.
TUCSON RACEWAY PARK
Will be back in action on August 7th as a dirt track.
VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Returns to action on Saturday, July 10th
The ASA IRA Outlaw Sprints will be in action along with Modifieds, Mini-Sprints and Fearless 4's this Saturday night. Racing begins at 7 p.m.
The 2nd Annual Washington Street Stock Challenge is this Saturday night along with Hornet Challenge for CASH and Bump to Pass. On Sunday, July 4th, the Annual Demo Derby and first ever Yakima Speedway Small Car Demo Derby, and Hornets will be in action.
