COLLISION ENDS BRANDON DAVIS’ OVAL EFFORT

ANTELOPE, California — Brandon Davis drives the No. 10 Applied Computer Solutions Toyota Camry for Bill McAnally Racing and took the green flag for the very first time on an oval track in the NASCAR K&N Pros Series West. This was his third series start for BMR after previously racing at the road course of Infineon Raceway.

Davis started the race on the inside of row nine and quickly found his rhythm at the track dubbed the “fastest short track in the West”. By the mandatory break at lap 100, Davis was running in twelfth. He continued on the move when at lap 120, the No. 97 of Justin Johnson found himself high in the turn one wall. With nowhere to go, driver of the No. 10 Applied Computer Solutions car day would be over as the two competitors collide.

“Overall I'm happy about the event,” said Davis. “Our goal was to finish in the top 10 which we weren't able to reach, but I feel that if we hadn't gotten caught up in the wreck, we had a good enough car to finish possibly in the top five with the way the car was as the tires had more and more laps. For me it was a good experience and now we can be that much more ahead the next time we go to an oval in the West Series.”

Davis, a SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Champion, made his first start for BMR at Infineon Raceway. This was his first oval track start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. Davis is running a limited schedule for Bill McAnally Racing. He will return to road course racing at Portland International Raceway and at Miller Motorsports Park.

King Taco “200” will be presented by SPEED Channel on Thursday July 8th at 3 pm PST. Check your local listings.

The next event on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West schedule is the Bi-Mart Salute to the Troops 125 at Portland (Ore.) International Raceway on July 18. This will be series second visit to Portland International Raceway in recent years. Prior to last year, the series last visit was in 1986.
