The DAA Northwest Spec Motor Late Model Series presented by Sherwin Williams will be very busy this weekend as the series will make stops at two different track in different states. On Friday the series will race at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington where Series Co-Owner Greg Biffle will make an appearance and have an autograph session. On Saturday the series heads to Sunset Speedway Park in Banks, Oregon for the running of the annual Greg Biffle Foundation Race that will pay $3000 to win. As an added attraction Greg Biffle will compete in a 10 lap exhibition race.
This will be the tenth and eleventh race of the 22 race series, four drivers have picked up main event wins so far this year, Greg Walters with four, Jason Wines has won two, while singles have been won by Russ Sell and Jerry Schram. Drivers competing in the series will compete for over $ 150,000 in prize and points fund money. The series will pay $5,000.00 to the 2010 Champion.
Heading into this weekend’s events current points leader Greg Walters from Banks is on a two race winning streak after picking up the win in Coos Bay last Saturday Night. Walters added to his point lead, which now stands at 12 over Lebanon’s Jason Wines 422 to 410. Brownville, Oregon’s Russ Sell sits in third position with 397 points, followed by Vancouver, Washington’s Jerry Schram with 383, Brady Sell and Steve Moore are tied for fifth with 378 points. Through the first nine events 33 drivers have taken championship points.
Other drivers expected to challenge for the win include Vancouver, WA. driver’s Jimmy Schram, Brandon Biffle, along with Brandon’s dad Jeff Biffle. Oregon drivers Billy Workman Jr, from Canby, Lebanon’s Brett James, Salem’s Terry Ferrando, and Britton Donahoo, Kris Pickle from Sweethome, the Trout brothers, from Banks, Bob and Doug along with Beaverton’s Brittany Ray.
