- The heat is on as many ASA Member Tracks and Sanctioned Series head into their mid-season stretch. Here is a look at what is happening this weekend in ASA Racing.
ASA MIDWEST TOUR - SUPER LATE MODELS & SPORTSMAN TOUR
(Raceway Park, Shakopee, MN)
The ASA Midwest Tour will make its final visit to the state of Minnesota for the season this Sunday night. Steve Carlson has a one point lead over Chris Wimmer in the standings and a 26-point lead over Ross Kenseth in the standings. The top-six is separated by 97 points.
The ASA Midwest Sportsman Tour will also be in action on Sunday night at Raceway Park. Chris Marek has a 54-point lead over Jay Kalbus in their point standings.
ASA INTERSTATE RACING ASSOCIATION SPRINT CAR SERIES
(Oshkosh SpeedZone, Oshkosh, WI & Eagle Valley Speedway, Abbotsford, WI)
Two events are on the schedule this weekend high flying 410 Winged Sprints. On Friday, they visit Oshkosh SpeedZone in Oshkosh, WI and then on Saturday, they will travel west to Eagle Valley Speedway in Abbotsford, WI.
ASA MEMBER TRACKS
The Late Models, Limiteds, Modifieds, Extremes and Mini-Stocks will be in action this Friday night. But that is not all!!! The evening will be capped off with the Duel for the Diamonds Ladies Chain Race. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and racing starts at 8:00 p.m.
BIG COUNTRY SPEEDWAY
A full racing program along with fireworks is on the schedule for this Saturday night. It is also Mid-Season Championship night as well. The Late Models, Grand American Mods, Mod 4's, Warriors, Micro Sprints, Super Stocks, and High Plains Mod Dwarfs will all be in action. Front gate opens at 3 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m.
CORPUS CHRISTI SPEEDWAY
(Corpus Christi, TX)
A full racing program is on tap this Saturday night. The Bombers, Front Runners, Sport Mods, Super Street, and Texas Thunder will all be in action. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with racing at 8:00 p.m.
DELLS RACEWAY PARK
(Wisconsin Dells, WI)
This Saturday, an inaugural Late Model Series will punctuate the first annual Mike Ladika Remembrance sponsored by Beagles Bar. For the past four weeks, the Late Model drivers have been scrambling to make the Trophy Dash so they could qualify for a 20-lap $1,000 shootout this Saturday night. The Late Models, Sportsman, Pure Stock, Bandits, Six Shooters and FIRA/Rascal Outlaws will be in action. Fan gates open at 4 p.m. with on track autographs and Kids Rides at 5 p.m., racing at 6:30 p.m.
DESOTO SUPER SPEEDWAY
This Saturday night...the Pure Stocks, Bombers, Flyin 4's, Magic 4's, Truck Series, Street Stocks, Open Wheel Modifieds, and Trophy Dash Cars will be in action. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and racing starts at 7:00 p.m.
DILLON MOTOR SPEEDWAY
A fun night of racing is scheduled this Saturday night. The full racing program includes the Super Trucks, Chargers, Street Stock, 4-Cylinder and Mini Cups. Racing get underway at 7:30 p.m. There will be bike races for the kids as well.
EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK
ASA Sanctioned racing returns to East Bay Raceway Park on Saturday, July 24th, 2010 with Gagel's Open Wheel Modified, Precision Kia of Wesley Chapel Street Stocks, Outlaw 4's, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers, and the Dirt Daubers.
GRAYS HARBOR RACEWAY
Three big days of racing is on tap this weekend for the 4th Annual Fred Brownfield Memorial. On Thursday, the North West Wingless Sprint and Midget Tour will be competing. Friday, NASCAR star Greg Biffle will be on hand to sign autographs and on the track is day one of the ASCS National Tour and the DAA Northwest Spec Late Model Series. Saturday night will see a complete ASCS show highlighted by the $10,092 to win Fred Brownfield Memorial. On Thursday the front gate opens at 4:30 pm, qualifying at 5:30 and racing to start around 6:30. Friday and Saturday tickets will go on sale at noon, front gate will open at 3:30 and the racing to start around 7:00 pm.
HARTFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
This Friday night it's Stock Car Showdown and Autograph Night. A full program is scheduled with Late Models, Modifieds, Stock Cars and Pure Stocks in action. Front gates open at 6 p.m with racing at 8 p.m.
It's City & State Employee Night. Show our employee ID card and receive 50% off a general grandstand admission ticket this Saturday night. The GA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Hornets, Figure 8's and Street Drags will be in action.
ILLIANA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
The popular weekly racing program returns this Saturday night with the Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Turbo Stox, Pure Stocks, Legends and Bandoleros in action. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing at 7:00 p.m.
INDE MOTORSPORTS RANCH
The Ti2TT Motorcycle Track Experience will be taking on the road course on Saturday and Sunday.
LEBANON I-44 SPEEDWAY
A full racing program is on tap this Saturday night with Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Streets and Chargers in action. Plus, the Outlaw Minis return!!! Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m.
LONESOME PINE RACEWAY
A full racing program is scheduled this Saturday night with the Late Models, Chargers, Street Stock, Mod 4's, Pure 4's and Renegades in action. Qualifying at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7:00 p.m.
MADISON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
Racing continues with Ho Chunk Gaming Night on Friday, July 16th with action in all five weekly divisions. Pit gates open at 3:30 with hot laps at 4:45, qualifying at 6:15 and racing at 7:30.
The Preacher Feature to find the Fastor Pastor is this Saturday night. The Winged Sprint Cars, ASA Modifieds, Mini Stocks and Hornets will be in action. Visit their website to get the latest update on the 10-second bounty for the Sprint cars. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m.

ORANGE SHOW SPEEDWAY
(San Bernardino, CA)
After a month off, the Super Late Models return to Orange Show Speedway to open the second half of their 12-race season with a 100-lap main event. It will be interesting to see if the time off has let anyone figure out how to beat David Ross, who has won five of the six races to date. Also on the program are the Team Too Pony Stocks (with Robby Hornsby Jr. going for his seventh win in as many starts), Interstate Batteries Factory Fours, Budweiser Legends Cars, M.C. Erectors Bandoleros and Tour Trucks. Gates open to the public at 4 p.m., the on-track autograph session is from 5:50 to 6:30 p.m. and the first race is scheduled for 7 p.m.
RED RIVER SPEEDWAY

ROCKY MOUNTAIN RACEWAYS

The CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series Late Models will complete their sixth race of the season at Rocky Mountain Raceways' ultra-fast oval on Saturday, July 17. Steve Jones claimed wins at Rocky Mountain Raceways last two RMCS races on May 8 and May 31. Bruce Quale, John Dillon and Brett Thompson have also secured wins this season. RMCS point leader John Newhouse will be a car to watch for. #26 Newhouse has placed in the top ten for every race this season and has three Top 5 finishes. Utah local Lynn Hardy also has three Top 5 finishes. Maverik Modifieds return to the track to continue the points chase for the ASA Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil National Championship. Only 7 points separate RMR point leader Bryan Wordelman and Nick Parker. Adult admission is $15. Youth admission (5-12) is $5. Gates open at 4 p.m., qualifying at 5 p.m., racing starts at 6 p.m.
SHANGRI LA II MOTOR SPEEDWAY
(Tioga Center, NY)
It's Rubbin is Racing Night this Saturday night. The Modifieds, Late Models, Sportsman Modifieds, and Street Stocks will be in action. Grandstands open at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 7:00 p.m.
Skagit Speedway is taking the weekend off from racing and will host the Skagit Music Festival on Sunday, July 18th featuring Grand Funk Railroad. Visit their site for more information and a listing of other musical acts performing that day.
SOUTHERN OREGON SPEEDWAY
Two nights of racing is on tap this Friday and Saturday night with the Gene Romero West Coast Flat Track Series. Five classes of motorcycle races on both nights. Spectator Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with Time Trials at 5:15 p.m. First race at 7:00 p.m.
STATE PARK SPEEDWAY
This Thursday State Park Speedway helps the Wausau Noon Optimists celebrate their 50th anniversary with kid's night at the racetrack. All kids 12 and under get in FREE and receive an Itti Bitz coupon for FREE Itti Bitz courtesy of the Wausau Noon Optimists! Ubake will also be there handing out cookies to the first 250 kids. There will also be bicycle races for kids and drivers, bicycle giveaways, a show car, and much more!
Lots of sizzling summer action is on the agenda for this weekend at Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX). Following the Open Test-n-Tune session on Friday evening (July 16), fans and race teams can enjoy some extra pit action at a Tailgate Party that will include a live DJ. Then, on Saturday (July 17), Thunderhill Raceway will present ten classes of racing: TSRS Late Models and Allison Legacys, Pro Trucks, SportMods, Dwarf Cars, Bandoleros, ASA A-Line Super Stocks, Thunder Stocks, Grand Stocks and Mini Stocks. Gates open at 4P and qualifying starts at 4:15P. A Fan Appreciation Happy Hour is set for 5:30P-6:30P - includes $1 hot dogs and soft drinks. Opening ceremonies are schedule for 6P. A demonstration by the Texas Corvette Association will kick off the night's racing activities.
TUCSON RACEWAY PARK
Will be back in action on August 7th as a dirt track.
VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
The buzz about this weekend's Steel Block Bandits sanctioned $2000 to win Revere Gas Firecracker 30 presented by Aaron's continues to get louder with talk of a possible fifty late models on hand for the series inaugural visit. Making the night even more exciting will be a huge fireworks extravaganza that is sure to please the whole family. Also, fans will have the opportunity to win a gas grill courtesy of Revere Gas and two HP Printers courtesy of Aaron's. The night's activities will also include the Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modifieds and the Collision One Limited Stock Cars in Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series action.
The rescheduled $1000 to win Modified show is re-scheduled for this Saturday night. The Street Stocks, Mini-Sprints, and Fearless 4's will also be in action.
Returns to action on July 24th.
