PORTLAND, Oregon — Oregon Food Bank is in the midst of "Racing to Stop Hunger". In these tough economic times, Oregon Food Bank and its network providers help over 250,000 people each month throughout Oregon and SW Washington. Community business partners – Bi-Mart, Pick N Pull Self-Service Auto Dismantlers and Schnitzer Steel – are hosting this food drive to help feed the hungry in our local area.
Our goal is to raise 100,000 pounds of food donations. The total amount collected will be announced at the Bi-Mart Salute to the Troops 125, K&N Pro Series, West event at Portland International Raceway this Sunday on July 18th.
On July 16, 17 and 18 Portland International Raceway, located at West Delta Park; 1940 North Victory Blvd., will be an official drop off site for Racing to Stop Hunger food drive, donations can be dropped off at the main entrance at the Oregon Food Bank truck. There will also be a drop off location on the midway at the Schnitzer Steel Vendor Booth. Canned food and any non-perishable food items or financial donations (checks and credit cards) are welcome.
