BRANDON DAVIS STILL POSITIVE AFTER DISAPPOINTING FINISH AT PIR

ANTELOPE, California — Bill McAnally Racing’s Brandon Davis and the No. 10 Applied Computer Solutions Toyota Camry team raced at Portland International Raceway for the Bi-Mart Salute to the Troops “125”.

Davis put the No. 10 ACS Toyota Camry third on the time sheet during the first practice. He was 10th in second practice. With concern of the engine not running strong, the team made the call to replace the motor. Under NASCAR rules, Davis would have to start at the rear of the field. In two laps, Davis gained ten positions. Forty laps into the 65-lap race, the No. 10 moved into the top-ten. With ten laps to go, he moved into the top five. With the laps winding down, Davis would get caught up with electrical problems and end his day at lap 59 as the rest of the field raced a green-white-checked finish. Daviswould finish in 20th, despite having ran the fastest lap of the race.

“Our run in Portland was overall a bit disappointing,” said Davis. “It seemed like once we would overcome one issue, another would spring up. The positive to take away for us would be the pace we could run when we didn't have issues which was just as fast if not faster than the field. Unfortunately things happen in racing and we were unable to come away with a representative finish. The thing to do now is go through the car and hope that we don't have the same problems when we go to Miller.”

The Bi-Mart Salute to the Troops “125” will be televised on Thursday July 29th on SPEED Channel at noon pacific time. Please check your local listings. Davis will also race for BMR at the road course at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah on Sunday September 12th.
