DAYTONA BEACH, Florida — We are past the halfway part of Summer which only means that the point battles ASA Member Tracks and Sanctioned Series are heating up. Here is a look at what is happening from July 29 to August 3 in ASA Racing.
ASA INTERSTATE RACING ASSOCIATION SPRINT CAR SERIES
(Wilmot Raceway, Wilmot, WI)
The fast 410 Winged Sprints will be in action on Saturday night at Wilmot Raceway, an ASA Member Track. Billy Balog holds a 67-point lead over Scotty Neitzel in the standings.
ASA MIDWEST TOUR & ASA MIDWEST TRUCK TOUR
(Wisconsin International Raceway, Kaukauna, WI)
The popular Super Late Model Series and uprising Truck Tour will be in action on Tuesday, August 3rd for the Annual Dixieland 150 event. Nationwide Series driver Scott Wimmer and Johnny Sauter, who is third in Truck Series points will be competing in the 150-lap event on the D-Shaped half-mile oval.
ASA MEMBER TRACKS
The challenge will be on to try to stop current Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member Track National Championship leader Rodney Cook this Friday night as he will be gunning for his ninth feature win of the season. The Late Models, Modifieds, Extremes, Mini Stocks, Flathead Fords, Legends and Bandoleros in action. Grandstands open at 6 p.m. with racing at 8 p.m.
BIG COUNTRY SPEEDWAY
A full racing program is scheduled this Saturday night. Late Models, Super Stocks, Grand American Mods, Mod Coupes, Mod 4's, Warriors, Micro Sprints, Super Lite Trucks, and Mini Cups in action. Front gate opens at 3 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m.
CORPUS CHRISTI SPEEDWAY
(Corpus Christi, TX)
A full racing program is on tap this Saturday night. The Bombers, Front Runners, Sport Mods, Super Street, and Texas Thunder will all be in action. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with racing at 8:00 p.m.
DELLS RACEWAY PARK
(Wisconsin Dells, WI)
A full racing program is on tap this Saturday night. The Late Models, Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Bandits and CSR Super Cups will be in action. Gates open at 4 p.m., qualifying at 4:30 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m.
DESOTO SUPER SPEEDWAY
The Speedway will be hosting its Mud N Music Festival from July 30 to August 1. Racing will return on August 14th.
DILLON MOTOR SPEEDWAY
A busy schedule is on the schedule for this Saturday night. The Super Trucks, Chargers, Street Stocks and 4-cylinders will be in action. Plus, a Candy Drop for Kids.
Racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK
The Redneck Smash-A-Rama III is this Saturday night. There will be a Demolition Derby, Enduro Race, Chain Race, Car-Boat Race, Flag Pole Race and a Motorhome Jump.
GRAYS HARBOR RACEWAY
Two big days of racing this Friday and Saturday night as the track hosts the 11th Annual Shipwreck Beads Modified Nationals. On Friday there will be qualifying, Heat Races, Pete Muller Trucking Race of Champions. On Saturday, the lineup includes trophy dashes, C-Main, B-Main, Last Chance Race and the 40-lap Shipwreck Beads Modified Nationals with $2,500 to win. Over 60 cars have already pre-entered.
HARTFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
A full racing program is scheduled this Friday night with the Dave Fairbanks Memorial for Pure Stocks highlighting the action. Grandstands open at 6 p.m. with racing at 8 p.m.
The United States Late Model Association will be competing this Saturday night in a special event. It will be a busy night with Memorial Recognition, Reunion Race, Pit Stop Challenge, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Hornets, Dwarf cars and more. It will be a night of celebrating racing in Colorado.
ILLIANA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
All six divisions are competing this Saturday night with the Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Turbo Stox, Pure Stocks, Legends and Bandoleros in action. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing at 7:00 p.m.
INDE MOTORSPORTS RANCH
The track is open from July 31 to August 1 for the Inde Summer Pass Private Track Day.
LEBANON I-44 SPEEDWAY
Saturday will include the regular Monster Energy Chase for the Cup points show and double feature action with a National Points Event for the Baby Grands. The National Event is expected to bring drivers in from all over the United States, all looking to stop young Cole Williams's dominance this season at the speedway. Gates open at 5, hot laps start at 6 and racing at 7:30. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults; $5 for ages 11-16 and free for 10 kids and under. Tier parking on the Budweiser Wild Side is $12 for adults; $7 for ages 11-16 and free for 10 and under with a $2 discount for senior citizens and those in the military.
LONESOME PINE RACEWAY
Will be back in action on Saturday, August 7th.
MADISON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
Racing continues with Pepsi Night on Friday, July 30th with action in all five weekly divisions. Pit gates open at 3:30 with hot laps at 4:45, qualifying at 6:15 and racing at 7:30.
The Bill Crow Memorial 50 for the Late Model Sportsman will highlight the action this Saturday night. The Sprint Cars, Pro 4's, Legends and Junior Stingers will also be in action. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m.
The Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Series Round Two is this Friday night with a $1,000 to win for the Late Models and $500 to win the Super Stock feature. All divisions will be in action. Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m.
ORANGE SHOW SPEEDWAY
(San Bernardino, CA)
Orange Show Speedway's version of the Battle of the Sexes will take center stage Saturday night (July 31) when the Interstate Batteries Factory Fours join the Super Late Models, Team Too Pony Stocks, Budweiser Legends Cars, M.C. Erectors Bandoleros and Stock OHV Karts on a very busy racing program. Three races remain in the 10-race season for the Factory Fours and there is a tie for the lead between San Bernardino High School teacher and coach Kim Marzullo and 2009 champion Dwayne Blay, an automobile service writer from Riverside (Ca.). The two are good friends, but both insist that friendship won't affect their on-track fight for the title. There's also a good battle for third between 56-year-old Victor Garcia and 12-year-old rookie Tony Forfa IV, who also are tied in the standings. Spectator gates will open at 4 p.m. PDT with the first race at 7 pm.

SHANGRI LA II MOTOR SPEEDWAY
(Tioga Center, NY)
The Race of Champions Tour, the premier paved track modified series in New York State, makes it second appearance of 2010 at Shangri-La II Motor Speedway on Sunday night, August 1. As part of the RoC Championship Series, the distance has increased from 75 green flag laps to a full 100 laps around the high banks of the half-mile Concrete Castle. And unlike the May event that was run on a hot, sunny afternoon, the return performance will be under the lights.
This years Bob's Burgers and Brew 360 Nationals presented by Goodyear figures to be hotly contested as drivers from across the US and Canada are all set to battle for the $10,000 winners portion of the record setting prize money. The companion division on both nights will be the Washington State Focus Midget Challenge. Focus Midgets are rapidly growing in numbers in the Northwest and Skagit Speedway's lightning fast 3/10th mile high-banked clay oval is the perfect length to test their skills. Friday general admission is $20; kids under six are free. Saturday admission is $20 for adults. Events start at 7pm both nights.
SOUTHERN OREGON SPEEDWAY
Chadwicks Pub & Sports Bar Night at the Races this Saturday night. The Late Models, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Thrill Cars are in action. Spectator Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with Time Trials at 5:15 p.m. First race at 7:00 p.m.
STATE PARK SPEEDWAY
The 30th Annual Miller Lite Larry Detjens Memorial 105 is this Thursday night. Over 15 previous Detjens Memorial winners will be in attendance including Dick Trickle, Dave Marcis, Tom Reffner, Scott Wimmer, Bryan Reffner, Kevin Stepan, Wayne Breitenfeldt, Donnie Woller, Joe Krzykowski and Allen Check. Drivers will be on hand for an autograph session from 6:30-7:15 p.m. Racing Starts at 7:15 p.m.
The action at Thunderhill Raceway resumes on Friday and Saturday, July 30 and 31.
On Friday, July 30, the drivers and crews will be getting their cars ready for racing during an Open Test-n-Tune practice session from 4P until dark. Saturday's agenda begins at 11A, when the pit gate opens. Scheduled practice sessions by class will begin at 11:45A. Grandstand gates will open at 4P, and qualifying for all classes will begin at 4:15P. Opening ceremonies will take place at 6:00 p.m., immediately followed by feature races by the following classes and series: TSRS Late Models, TSRS Allison Legacys, Pro Modifieds, Texas Pro Sedans, Bandoleros, NasKarts, ASA A-Line Super Stocks, Thunder Stocks, Grand Stocks and Mini Stocks.
TUCSON RACEWAY PARK
Will be back in action on August 7th as a dirt track.
VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Will return to racing action on Saturday, August 7th.
The ASA IRA Sprints will be in action on Saturday night along with the Vintage Modifieds, Modifieds, and Mini-Sprints.
A great night of racing is scheduled for this Saturday night. The Super Streets, Sportsman, Hornets, Youth Hornets, and Bump to Pass is in action.
