
BOISE, Idaho — The Northwest Pro4 Alliance will make its first visit to Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, ID, on August 7th for the Pool Care Inc. / Project Filter 100. The Magic Valley Speedway fans are in for a treat, as more than 30 drivers from five states converge on the fast third-mile for an exciting night of short track racing.
Prosser, WA, driver Rick Thompson, and Utah’s best Kurt Madsen, will enter into the evening tied for the lead in the championship points standings, which is a sure bet for a great night of competitive racing action. Meridian Speedway ‘s current championship points leader, Ken Chandler, along with regulars Kale Freedman, Jim Bailey, Neal and Dave Latham, and Project Filter’s own Tyler Bailey and Mike Chandler (subbing for John Peterson), will face off against the best teams in four-cylinder late model racing as Steve Thompson will join his brother Rick and the rest of the “Prosser Posse“ – Jeff and Scott Raver, and Johnny and Bud Rumsey – to show the fans what fast really is!
Making the long tow from the west side of Washington and Oregon will be the Renegade Racing team of Terry Rennick (Salem, OR), Eddie Secord (Oak Hills, CA), and John Grosvenor (Puyallup, WA)who is currently ranked third in Alliance points. Also making the 14-hour tow will be Dan Hale, Jeff Jones, Scott Earsley, Ron Grosvenor, Craig Forney and Rob Golden.
Making his first start in a Pro4 car will be local hometown favorite Bruce Quale, a regular on the Rocky Mountain Challenge Series. Quale will be at the wheel of the #2Q Ford Fusion owned by Rob Powers of Meridian, ID. Powers drove this car to the 2009 Meridian Speedway Pro4 Championship, and it is certain to be a top contender in the Pool Care Inc. / Project Filter 100 feature event. Powers will also have the pleasure of racing against his own car, as he returns to take the wheel of Mike Bailey’s Ford Taurus to improve on his current 8th place in the Alliance point’s standings.
The Pyrotect Rookie of the Year battle picks up again with Umatilla, OR, driver Bill McAdams squaring off with Auburn, WA, driver Craig Forney in their battle to take the 2010 rookie of the year title. Also expected is the Boardman, OR, team of Tom Imus and Hermiston, OR, driver Howard Patrick.
