DAYTONA BEACH, California — It will be another great summer weekend to get out and enjoy some ASA Racing across the United States. Here is a look at what is happening.
ASA SERIES
ASA NORTHWEST SPRINT CAR RACING ASSOCIATION SPRINT CAR SERIES
(Ephrate Raceway Park, Ephrata, WA)
The top pointed NSRA/ASA drivers and teams will travel this weekend to Ephrata Raceway Park, Ephrata, Wash., to compete in the annual Rebel Jackson Memorial on Saturday night. With only 31 points separating the four drivers atop the standings, the Jackson Memorial may provide a role to who is crowned the 2010 season champion. Two-time defending champ Matt Hein, Roseburg, Ore., again finds himself leading the points race, but only by a narrow 4-point margin over surging Sierra Jackson, Middleton, Ida. Hein, ironically won the event in Ephrata last year. Jackson is fresh off wins at both Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Ida., and the Art Pollard Memorial in Roseburg. Jackson recorded her first NSRA victory by capturing the Jackson Memorial in 2008. Andy Alberding, Winston, Ore., is in third place, trailing by just 23 points. Alberding is a two-time Jackson Memorial winner. Cory Lockwood, another young Idaho racing sensation, stands fourth in points.

ASA INTERSTATE RACING ASSOCIATION SPRINT CAR SERIES

The fast 410 Winged Sprints will be in action on Saturday night at Beaver Dam Raceway, an ASA Member Track. Billy Balog holds a 67-point lead over Scotty Neitzel in the standings.

ISCARS DASH TOURING SERIES SANCTIONED BY ASA

The thrilling compact car series will make its annual appearance to the Virginia track this Saturday night. Danny Bagwell has a 79-point lead over Joey Jones in the standings.

The Indiana based Hoss Outlaw sprint cars invade the ASA sanctioned Illiana Motor Speedway for a 30 lap main event which will feature Seven divisions of auto racing this Sat. nite Aug 7th. The 410 winged sprints blister the ½ mile at record speeds of over 120 mph, which is, defiantly "Speed you can feel." This Saturday will include the regular Monster Energy Chase for the Cup points show and double feature action with a National Points Event for the Baby Grands. The National Event is expected to bring drivers in from all over the United States, all looking to stop young Cole Williams's dominance this season at the speedway. Gates open at 5, hot laps start at 6 and racing at 7:30. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults; $5 for ages 11-16 and free for 10 kidsand under. Saturday, August 7, A&G Coal will host its third annual Race Night at The Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA featuring the Super Cup Stock Car Series Coal Miner's 100 along with the ISCAR DASH Touring Series sanctioned by ASA and the Diamond Lawn Service Legends Division. Admissions for the evening's racing action are $10-Adult, $5-Children 7-12 and 6 and under are free. Daniel will got into the event with a 25-point lead over Peterson, the probable Rookie of the Year. After taking a week off Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway will return to racing on Saturday August 7th to host Truckin Thunder, Collision One, WNNT, WRAR Kids in Uniform Night presented by Amerigas. All kids in a baseball, softball, soccer, Boy Scout or Girl Scout uniform will be admitted free. It will be a night of exciting racing so bring the whole team or group. The night's activities will include the Victory Lap Late Models, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modifieds and the Collision One Limited Stock Cars in action. Competitor gates for Saturday, August 7th will open at 4pm with spectator gates opening at 6pm. On track activities will begin at 6:30pm with hot laps.
