1. Prior to the SRL what other racing experience did you have?
I started racing in the Mini Outlaw Dirt series from the time I was 8 until I was 16 years old. I then raced at Shasta Raceway Park in a Late Model and then moved up to a touring Super Late model division. I have also run a full schedule in the ASA Speed Truck series and have had three starts in the K&N West series and two starts in the K&N East series.
2. Why did you choose to be part of the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series in 2010?
I had the opportunity in 2006 to race in the NASCAR Southwest Tour series and really enjoyed the experience...love the cars and how they handled. In February I was working and living still back east and CEO Cheryl Archer of Superior Crankshaft flew back to meet with me about driving for her company in the SRL Series. With such a great opportunity to race with a big sponsor backing me in the competitive SRL Series, I couldn't pass up the opportunity, packed up and moved home!
3. We’re just past the half-way point of the season; give your description of your season to this point?
We have had our ups and downs so far this season trying to find the right match for me in equipment and crew etc, however we have hit on something now and I feel I can finish the season strong thanks to Superior Crankshaft and the cars prepared by Bammer Motorsports
4. How did you get started in this sport?
A teenage neighbor raced go-karts and we went to watch...I was hooked.
5. What other sports are you good at?
There are other sports??
6. How do you relax?
I relax by shooting my bow after work.
7. Favorite activity away from the racetrack?
I'd have to say that hunting and fishing are my favorite activities away from the track.
8. One sport you would never try?
Wrestling...too much physical contact for me!
9. Favorite racing moment?
Winning back-to-back championships in the Late Model division at Shasta
Raceway Park.
10. Worst household chore?
I don't clean bathrooms.
11. Who has made the most impact in your life?
My parents have made the most impact on my life. Without their love and support, I wouldn't be where I am today.
12. If you could chose anyone in the world to be your crew chief, who would it be?
My dream crew chief would be Darien Grubb.
13. Most embarrassing moment in racing?
Racing in the ASA Speed Trucks, I ended up on top of 55-gallon drums during
practice at St. John's road course.
14. What pays the bills? Job/occupation?
I am a racecar mechanic for Heritage Motorsports in Redding, CA.
15. Words to live by?
I'd have to say my brother's bio poem...the last line is the most important..."You
only live once and for how long is unknown, so get it in while you can.”
16. Racing goals for 2010 and beyond?
My racing goals are to win races and drive for championships as a driver. My
sponsor, Superior Crankshaft, is really big on development of a driver on and off
the track. I know there are 2011 plans are currently being worked on that include
me in the SRL again and some single races in upper level divisions.
17. Greatest racing accomplishments to date (please list):
Having 3 championships and a Sportsman of the Year are some of my best racing
accomplishments so far.
