
Ryan Fortier gets his first win at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, California in the Super Truck main event. Fortier’s victory snapped Ryan Partridge’s ten race winning streak. Driving the Longacre Racing Products and Unfair Advantage sponsored Chevy truck; Fortier started the night with handling problems in early practice runs. Crew Chief Larry Bedley went to work on the MikeChevyParts owned truck. By main event time, Bedley had the car geared up to move to the front of the twenty-truck pack. The King Taco Super Truck race was filled with yellow flags. Fortier skillfully moved his way through the field with the help of long-time Spotter Bob Runnfeldt. Fortier was one of the few, if not the only driver, to keep his truck from sustaining any body damage during the crash-filled race.
The last yellow flag was started on lap 38 of the exciting 40-lap race. Fortier, sitting in the third spot, had a superb restart and pulled along side the second place truck. Leader Pat Minty Jr.’s truck slid up toward the wall, letting Fortier shoot past on the inside. Fortier crossed the finish line six lengths ahead to take the win. Fortier, son of Mike Fortier, former Saugus Speed Champion, took home the one-thousand dollar winning share purse as well as the championship
