BOISE, Idaho — The Minegar Racing team has had its share of ups and downs this season, but through it all, the team is focused on the future. The future is now and this weekend the BodyBuilding.Com sponsored team is fit and focused on returning to form in the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series. The event this Saturday at Meridian (ID) Speedway marks the return to their collective racing roots and second time the series has visited the historic oval this season.

"Everyone enjoys racing and we enjoy each other. The rest of it is a bonus"

Dave Minegar has endured his toughest season since beginning his racing career, and while disappointments are part of racing, the 30-year old has a lot to smile about. He is a two-time series champion and owns most of the series records. But it is not the stats or records he is most proud of. "We have a great team and a great sponsor in BodyBuilding.Com," Minegar said. "Everyone enjoys racing and we enjoy each other. The rest of it is a bonus."

Each member of the team is successful off the track and brings that success to the team. The team is owned by Pat Minegar, owner of A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning, a company with a rich and long history in the Treasure Valley. Sponsor BodyBuilding.Com, owned by Jeremy DeLuca, is the world's largest online retailer of nutritional supplements and has been with Minegar Racing for over ten years.

Crew chief Craig Bell is a second generation racer and second generation business owner of a landmark auto repair business in Kuna, Idaho. Larry Bowers owns a successful auto repair business in Meridian and has had a distinguished career in racing, most recently preparing cars for Minegar racing but also dating back to the 1980's when he and his brother Jerry Bowers formed the nucleus of a team that was nearly unstoppable.

Returning from cancer treatment this season, Dave Earl is the heart and soul of the team. When Dave is not at the track he teaches history and coaches girls basketball at Hillside Jr. High in Boise. Ron Minegar owns a successful real estate firm in Boise and brings his infectious sense of humor and energy to the team.

Matt Wolfkiel is the youngest member of the team and works full-time at Boise Cold Storage, but his dedication and excitement for racing blends nicely with the veteran members. Kirk Wartman, an accomplished racer in his own right, teaches mechanics at Boise State University and brings considerable mechanical talents to the team.

Tyson Garten works for A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning as the Marketing Manager and has bolstered Minegar Racing's web and media presence through the use of video and digital imagery this season.

While no one driver wins or achieves success alone, Dave Minegar has the support of a talented team, an enthusiastic sponsor, and the support of his wife Heidi and son Ethan as he pushes forward in his quest for on-track excellence. This weekend the team must tackle the tricky quarter-mile paved oval of Meridian Speedway. A track he knows well and a place where his racing career began.

"We really need our luck to turn around," Minegar said. "We love racing at Meridian and we know we will have a lot of support there this weekend. Racing is about teamwork and our team is as committed as ever. We would like nothing more than to get back into victory lane."

Minegar racing is owned by Pat Minegar and is sponsored by BodyBuilding.com, Redline, Gaspari Nutrition, Supreme Nutrition, MusclePharm, Optimum Nutrition, A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning, Lennox, and Dillon Auto Craft. Dave Minegar is in his seventh season in the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series and is a two-time series champion (06, 08) with 58 career starts, six wins, 23 top five and 43 top ten finishes along with twenty-two (23) career Sharp Powder Coating Fast Time Awards and most career money won. Minegar's crew is led by Craig Bell, Dave Earl, Larry Bowers, Matt Wolfkiel, Kirk Wartman, Ron Minegar, Heidi Minegar, and Tyson Garten.
