The DAA Northwest Spec Motor Late Model Series presented by Sherwin Williams will make their last stop of the year at ¼ mile high banked Madras Speedway this Saturday Night, it will be the twentieth race of the twenty two race series. . Madras is a ¼ mile high banked clay oval located in central Oregon. Thirty eight drivers have earned points so far this year. Drivers competing in the series will compete for over $150,000 in prize and points fund money. The series will pay $5,000.00 to the 2010 Champion.
In the battle for the Championship, Lebanon’s Jason Wines picked up 11 points last weekend at the two day show in Coos Bay and is now tied with Greg Walters from Banks, for the lead, with 822 points. Wines had fourth and second place finishes, while Walters finished ninth the first night and fourth the second. Russ Sell from Brownsville continues to hold down third position with 788, eleven more than his son Brady who has 777 points, Brady picked up his second Main Event victory on Saturday Night at Coos Bay. Vancouver’s Jerry Schram continues in fifth with 767 points.
The big mover last week was Salem’s Terry Ferrando as he picked up his first win of the 2010 season on Sunday Night after finishing second to Brady Sell on Saturday Night. With that win Ferrando becomes the eighth different winner on the series this year. Greg Walters leads the way five wins, Jason Wines has three wins, followed by Brady’s and, Russ Sell with two. Other drivers with single wins include Jerry Schram, Billy Workman Jr, and Casey Vitale.
Other top Late Model drivers scheduled to compete include Oregon drivers Billy Workman Jr, from Canby, Steve Moore form Scio, Lebanon’s Brett James, Salem’s Terry Ferrando, and Britton Donahoo, Kris Pickle from Sweethome, the Trout brothers, from Banks, Bob and Doug along with Beaverton’s Brittany Ray, and Vancouver, Washington driver’s Jimmy Schram, Jeff Biffle.
